I've been going with 12 cents for a few years,.. forget where i read that. I assume it was someones average for the year, but ya fuck if its accurate anymore. Boy you really do learn something new everyday. I didn't know about the "peak" thing.
This peak is between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily, June through September, when the weather is hottest and electricity use is greatest.
That is exactly the 6 hour window I have my veg room lights go off. I just did it because I knew it was the hottest time of day. neat..
That page leaves me with no idea of the price though. I find it hard to believe we're only getting charged 5 cents a kWh Oct-May. That seems low...
Ok fuck it, I just logged in and looked at my bill. seems last month i got charged 10 cents for my useage.

I think NVE just bills you whatever the fuck they want. lol

EDIT:
That was last month,.. this months bill was $100 lower, because the flower power room has been shut down for remodel. New paint, and check out the new lights!
They make me smile :-P

...no more cheap power bill for me. Moving up to 2400W for flower, still sucking 1200W in the veg room.

Grow weed ery day! :weed:

Wow, that's a nice set up, how much will you grow under that set up? This is my first time so I started off with a 400 watt hydrofarm set up, but I'm upgrading to 800 watts...im about two weeks in to flower..do you think my plants will love it?

To save money don't only avoid the peak rate times, avoid the heat as well. You'll pay to cool your house more if lights are running till noon. I watch temps closely all day and night, outside, inside, and all over my 2 grow rooms. 9pm to 9am is IMO the coolest time of day. For the veg room, lights are on the full 18 non-peak hours.

When outside temp dips below 85 I turn off AC, and turn on 3 window fans. Pisses me off to think I'm paying to cool hot air and right outside is air the temperature I want for free. Still though, it seems I need even more air movement. Maybe it's because I have an apartment under me, also surely due to how these boxes radiate heat for hours after the sun goes down, but I find it's hard to get the temp in my place below 83 with just the fans, even if its 70 outside like it was last night. I hate letting the AC run all night. I just bought a gable fan for my attic space. 14" 1400CFM. I put a temp probe up in my attic space last week. It hit 136F the other day. So a few inches away from where I'm paying to keep 85 degree air its 130+ degree most everyday of summer. :wall: I'll be fixing that soon as it arrives.

EDIT:
I'm hoping to get 9-12 flowering ladies under my new light setup. Perpetual grow so prob quadrants of 3or4 under each light all on different stages. Been looking into Tropf Blumat's too.

Its stays around 75 at all times in my grow area, I've always been bad with ac cranking lol
dude i wanna too! when its 85 at night, and 85 right now (1pm and sun blazing) it doesn't even feel the same, don't even feel like its on. Everythings radiating heat,.. sucks!
Fuck it, my cheap ass is going down to 83 right now, haha :bigjoint:
