From what seed bank your plant? A lot of breeders make their own strains/ I want to grow the best but not the only the most famous?
Hi Cliric,
The seeds are from Barneys Farm shop :)

I don't know about them being the best but they reportedly have a high THC content and seem to grow well. A few people I've been speaking to, who have grown it, speak highly of it.

Is that crinkling of the leaves, towards the center of the plant, due to being too close to the light? The edges curl up a little also, but I've looked back over past pictures and it always has a little bit.
At first glance, "I don't know" However, I will do some research for you.I'm a dirt farmer (except clones) However, I plan to start hydro experiments soon. Those are some great picks by the way.

Hiya OG, thanks for stopping in.

I've seen your dirt grow - it's amazing. I'm having a lot of fun with this hydro setup and I'm sure you would too. Regarding the leaves, I thought maybe it was heat but the temperature has always been quite well controlled. It was growing fast and putting out big leaves, can a plant grow too fast and bunch itself up a bit, at that stage? Eventually all the leaves straightened out, as you see, and everything appears fine.

Can I get some advice, please...

Last night I went to the back of the tent, to the side flap that's a pain in the ass to get to. I don't go there much, for that reason... Anyway, when I look in, I can see that some of the main colas, of the two plants at the back, have actually got some orange pistils on them. I hadn't noticed before because the main girl, at the front of the tent, gets most of my attention and she has no signs of this change.

What I want to know is how far ahead does it look? I'll attach some comparison shots.

Will I have to harvest some earlier, or, is it just a matter of a few days difference between the two plants and I'm getting anxious over nothing?

I think so. I've seen a lot of strange things that lead back to high nutrient uptake. I'm not going to get out there and argue with the pros, but canabus can have symptoms that can be more than one thing.I'm glad it straitened out for you. I'm going to post a pick of my new hydro set-up, just got it today. I'm inspired.

The second one looks way further along. Maybe the plant that's further along is just getting more light. Are you rotating them?

Hey OG! Thanks for getting involved bro

I suppose the crinkling of the leaves could also be genetic. I know of someone, online, who has just planted the same seeds, outdoors though. I'll be able to see what his do, which will also be good for an indoor/outdoor comparison.

Looks like you're going with a DWC setup? Only way to find the missing bits is to build it! ;) Mine is a recycling system so nothing sits in water... Actually, DrCanna who posts in here has a DWC grow the same size as mine and it's fantastic, you should check it out. He's also about 2 weeks ahead of me. Are you going to put up a grow journal?

It really shouldn't be getting more light, it's actually in the far corner where this picture was taken and colas directly under the light are mostly unaffected. I should also point out that the two that are seemingly ahead in growth are the two that, in all the earlier pictures, look like they're behind in growth - the smaller ones. Strange?

Regarding rotating these girls, I'll attach a picture that says a thousand words ahaha.

Yes I'm going to build it. LoL Just like Johnny Cash. "One Piece at a Time" I guess that cola just wants to finish early. Watch it real close and if the trichomes amber up, take it. I have seen some strange things in nature. I want to do a grow journal for this hydro. I have already started a new 1200 grow box and I'm posting in the 600w Club. I had pretty much retired from commercial indoor. I'm just doing some small grows because of this forum. I'm intrigued with the new technology and what it has to offer. Some of the millionaire assholes who moved here and set up million dollar operations are getting (zoned out) due to recent changes in regulations. The State of Oregon wrote in some rules to protect small growers like me. There is still some hope.

They aren't going to budge!

This is an example of a bud I let overripe. i does make a great picture though.IMG_1915.JPG

Whats uo bro .... i wouldnt worry too much right now about the orange pistils in the back plant. Many factors can cause that inclusing fan directly blowing on the buds ..... as of now just observe the general look and fullness of the buds ... we will assess general ripeness later when its closer to the 8-9th week of flowering by chrcking the trichomes. And btw even if you have one plant thatll finish a week or so earlier, well that just means you will have buds with different ripeness and ultimately (different amount of amber in the trichomes) different balance of the high ..... also when you (or the tent wall) brush against the buds I also noticed the pistils will change orange .... just an observation.
Also i read somewhere above (excuse ne half asleep n just woke up hah) describing the edges of the leaf going up ajd crisping ..... if the leaf blade loos like a canoe, this canoeing effect is due to heat stress ... the crisping that happens also due to heat stress. See even if the temp stays within normal limits, it doesnt mean that the direct light rays arent infact burning the leaves. Use the back of the hand test .... if it seems a bit hot for ya after a few seconds, then trust me its hot for the girls being under it for 12 hours .... also I noticed that the areas where we have direct light thats very intense on the girls, any deficiency or nute burn or any other issue will show a lot faster and alot worse on the leaves that are heat stressed (even if that heat stress is very minimal that its not showing under normal circumstances )
Hope this helps dude ;-)

Thanks again guys for posting, it's great to have people to ask these questions of. Giving me more confidence.

I actually like the idea of harvesting them all at the same time and getting bud of different maturity. I wont leave them in there too long but if I can get to the end with all the plants in tact, nothing over or under cooked, than I'll get a chance to see what I like best :)

As for the crisping, haha, no it was crinkling, like new growth was bunching up, still vibrant and green. It sorted itself out :D

That back of the hand thing doesn't seem to work for me, either my hands are numb or my sealed light hood is too efficient at keeping it cool - because going by the back of my hand I could move the lights 10 inches closer!

Hi bbyb,
Thanks for posting, they look great. I think mine are more similar to the second picture.

What did you think of LH?
Really great strain so far, havent smoked it yet but its my favorite to grow. Out of 5 plants LH grew with the most vigor and had the best structure, definetly keeping one of these phenotypes depending on which ones stronger..so far it seems that the 2nd one has much more trichomes than the first. But im only 24 days into flowering so far, so well see ;)

I also have LSD from barneys farm coming along well in flowering, really like that breeder. seems to be good genetics.

Hey bro. Yeah, I've kept clones of two of the three, different plants you can see and one of them has a mutation I hope is genetic. I did a fair amount of research to arrive at Barneys Farm and if I like this LH, which I'm sure I will, I'll definitely try more of their seeds. I'd like to hear what you think of the LSD down the track, too :)

Here's this weeks update pictures, too! [I know I had only just posted, due to the pistils... ]

This is day one of week seven. I'm really keen to wrap this up! It's teasing me now. Attached is a canopy shot and a shot of each of the flowers, now, as some are advanced. Check out the trichomes on the advanced one! Just a few more weeks...
