Hi everyone,

I might just post a few pictures of my first real grow and I invite anyone to comment if they can help in any way.

Here's my Liberty Haze, she's in to her second week of nutrients in this picture.

Currently under a 600w MH

Nutrient change day so I took some photos. I think there's a massive difference for two days (time since the first photos were taken,) but I stare at it a lot...

For perspective, the feeder ring is nine inch.

Is that crinkling of the leaves, towards the center of the plant, due to being too close to the light? The edges curl up a little also, but I've looked back over past pictures and it always has a little bit.

Another week, another res change and photo day. She seems to have taken to being topped in the picture above, only a week ago! So bushy underneath, too!

I'm going to start training the tops, just push them flat and out to the sides a little bit as I plan to scrog this tent. I'm not actually sure at what point I can top the current two new tops again...

So, last night, Im fishing out all the branches from behind fan leaves so they can get more light, learning a bit of LST as well when CRACK... Unbelievable. Earlier I posted a picture of how I topped this plant, well that went great but I just cracked one of the new tops right where it joins. I've gone to two tops and back to one. I panicked. I didn't know if I could mend it and had to do something so I took it off all the way, cleaned it up a bit with a knife, put it in some clonex and have it under a couple of 24w T5's in a rockwool cube. I figured I'll try and root it, I want to learn to clone and make mothers anyway, I might as well try with this. This picture attached is about 24 hours later, it looks okay but I ghess it's too early to tell.

This is a great strain to smoke bro. It is very potent. I grew this at least 3 times maybe 4. I grew it in both soil and hydro. Let me know if you have any questions dude. Good job and good luck. Treat her well because she WILL impress you and your friends alike happy growing bro

Hey, thanks Dr. She's growing very well, i think, and has big fat indica leaves so I'm quite excited.

Here's the whole family, she's the one at the front, as you can see in the few days since the last picture even after me breaking off a branch - she's going well i think.

Do I need to trim back some fan leaves to allow some light in?

I'm not a huge fan of trimming fan leaves though I do it sometimes by later in the plants life to expose more bud sites to light (lower bud sites in areas of poorer penetration). At this stage and with a 600w I think you should let the girls just be ... at least for now. You can train them and pull the branches out to allow for more light penetration. At this stage you'd want all the fan leaves possible to increase photo synthesis and thus metabolism and growth.
This is my preference though and Someone who does more defoliation may be able to shed some light on his experience, perhaps!

Hey guys, thanks, as you can see they're not all doing as well but it's all learning to me. I hope I can get them ALL through to flowering!

Thanks, Dr, I was thinking along the same lines and that's how I accidentally broke a main branch off her, I was too heavy handed but live and learn. You can see the plant pictured in the top left is about to shoot up in four directions, I FIM'd that one [to try/learn to FIM.] The main plant, front center (I call her 'one,') what I've done is tuck all the big fat fan leaves back, as much as I could, and poke all the branches out. They're responding I think. I want to SCROG the whole tent but I'm not sure exactly when to start that

SCROG is an awesome way to maximize your yield in this tent. Place the scrog screen about a foot above the base of the plant. When they reach the screen, train the branches and spread them. As simple as that! You can set the screen up when the plants reach the screen height. Mine is going in the tent very soon

Just checking your grow out now; we have similar sized setups, great looking plants you have. I hope I can keep mine going like that. So, a foot off the base, cool. I've made up the screen but I wasn't sure on how high to place it. I did see a foot as the suggested measurement, but then I look at my plants and they are so short and bushy I wasn't sure if that changed anything. Thanks for the help, it's good to get some answers and tips from other growers

Dude trust me when I say their short stature is the least of yoir worries ..... LHs stretch a lot after flip. Usually youd want to fill 75% of your screen before you flip the lights. With LHs id say less then 75% because they stretch a lot after you flip (which is why you should keep the light spectrum or color that of a veg to reduce the stretch then change to HPS or any bloom lighting when stretching seizes).
When you fill your screen, you also want to slowly defoliate the growth underneath but do it in enough time before you flip. I noticed LH streched even longer than usual when i defoliated AFTER flipping the light to 12/12. This could be coincidental but definitely worth noting!
Happy growing LH bro
