So these are going to have 8 tops each. They are Barneys Farm Critical Kush, a few weeks from clone now (they took ages to root). Using 200w cfl 6400k (soon to be 400w mh and two 200w cfls) rainwater, dutch master gold nutrients, calmag, in 13 litre 2-1 perlite/vermiculite hempy style, I will be updating as I go. Thanks for looking. All comments, love, criticism or abuse lol welcome. it rains a lot in winter here , so I bought some 280ltr plastic drums with screw on lids that had some kind of foodstuff in for $15 each to store it all

I'm way too lazy to spend the time binding down the plants for mainlining. Yours look good and I like your diagram showing the manifold. Nice work.

I like MLing. I think the quality of the flowers is alot more uniform with this method applied. I have been trying different methods and angles to work these girls, and have found leaving the 4th as well as the 5th node works really well. Best of luck! peace out.

yeah I will keep posting pics and I have some lovelies arriving soon to add with these. So in the simplest terms, mainlining is getting rid of the pissy side branches and all those bottom branches that can sometimes produce little buds (well I think this is what it means!). All branches come of the same node, thus producing a more uniform result. Here's the thread for anyone interested https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/542308-main-lining-thread.html . This might explain it better than I could possibly :-o

Here's some update pics, have discovered and corrected a .3 discrepancy in my ph meter and also lowered ppm a little, they are still under the 200w 6400k cfl. I'm not too worried about when I will flower these two, I will turn them into little beasts:weed: SAM_2962.jpgSAM_2963.jpgSAM_2964.jpg

I read that mainline thread a while back. Hope to try it too at some point. Seems like the optimum way to grow. Yours are looking great Critical. Good luck with them

thanks super, and district , that is a temporary home for these two, its a 100 litre plastic container or tote as I think they are know in usa that's been made into a little grow box. it's not optimal, but they are going in the tent soon!

How long have you been vegging so far since the first topping, and how long does it usually take until the final to make the 8?

Here's a little variation on ML'ing, think you'll like it.
DSC03083.jpg
The girl on the right is my Skunk#1 that I left the 4th node on as well as ML'ing the 5th. The girl on the left is a Menage a Trois and she has the more traditional ML going on, but I was a little rough and took out a branch early leaving me with 16 tops on the remaining 3 branches. 8 tops on the two and 8 on the other after a lot of training to keep it all as even as possible.
DSC03248.jpgThe one in the lowes bucket(Menage a Trois) is in the rear left of this pic.
This is what they look like now after the 12/12 flip 26 days ago. I really like the tech with some variations, but sometimes it's just better to stick with a more strict ML. It really all depends on the strain, work with em and find out what works with each one. Hope this can help some people. Peace out.
