I would say calcium deficiency but could be wrong.
Are you using any calmag currently?
Tap water or RO?
whats your ppm(tds) before adding nutes?
What nutes are you using?

Thanks Neckpod !
You have helped me before.
Maybe with my "cherry" post. Lol
Soil grow, no cal mag yet.
Only one feeding of a light bloom feed about a week ago, 1-3-1
Was scared of nutes d/t 1/3 MG soil
And I'm such a newb I bought a 4 readout
Meter and it's so cheap it only reads ppm as high med and low..... it always bottoms out on "low"!
So no help really. I will get a better one if I do this again lol
It's stressful :)
Tap water only.
I guess my first question before cal mag is this, my ph (again cheap meter) always reads the soil at 7 if I drop the ph a little will that increase my calcium uptake?
Or is that just a waste of time and a watering?
Thanks again!!

Growing should not be stressful mate, I would drop the ph a little to maybe 6.5 and buy some calmag its not expensive. I had the same shit with my last plants and they still turned out good just be calm and don't over water them. if you decide to have another go try and look in coco coir as this is basically coconut shell and has no nutritional value to the plans, you just need a complete grow, macro, bloom line of nutes.
Keep it simple is the best advice i could give anyone in the beginning and try and enjoy the process.

i only use cheap meters, bought them both of amazon for under £15 each. ppm and ph. the ph does need calibrating if i dont use it for a while, and the tds meter was even cheaper than the ph.

For the links and the advice!
Not really stressful in the omg sense
Just stressful trying to keep em going healthy and worry that I can't cause I'm a NEWB on my first attempt, I know not everyone succeeds even with experience.

So can I do ph lowering and cal mag in the same watering or should I adjust ph first?
Appreciate your time!!

consider picking up a quality organic fertilizer and following the directions on the package to avoid these issues? I use pro mix and organicare without any deficiencies ever

Thanks Chemphlegm!
You have helped me before, I'm the "silly newbie" on his first grow who used 1/3 miracle grow in the soil mix.
So I have been wary of adding anything!! Only now the consensus is I'm calcium deficient.
Next time around.....
So what's your view on can I lower Ph AND add calcium at the same time? Or should I drop the Ph first (always 7) to see if this increases my Ca uptake ?
Thanks again.

100% Ca deficiency. Begin supplementing Ca and just keep in mind plants have a tough time absorbing Ca in a pH environment below 6, whether in hydro or soil.

So I'm obviously a newbie, and have asked a couple other posters, but can I drop Ph AND add calcium in the same watering or should I space them apart?
Thanks for your time and input.

I recall recently being told a couple of mine were calcium deficient, so I added some at half strength and both plants locked up and failed. never used it before or since. I dont use ph adjusters or calcium in my dirt, sorry.
I'm better at avoiding these issues than fixing them after they happen. good luck.

Rule of thumb - Mix your nutrients up. Wait a few minutes. Check the PH. If the PH needs to be adjusted then use UP/Down to get the water to your desired PH range.

Lets use an example....

Say you have 1 gallon of tap water with a PH of 7. You decide you want to feed your plant so you mix in some silica, some calmag, some grow, and some microbes. You mix it all up, come back 10 minutes later and notice your PH is 7.4. You know you don't want to give the plant water with 7.4 PH water so you grab your bottle of PH Down. You add in a few squirts, mix it up, come back later and notice it's now at 6.9. You grab your bottle again and squirt a little more and mix. You return and now your PH is at 6.5. VIOLA, this was the PH you intended to achieve so now you can give this water to your plants.

Hey Smokebros,
Thanks a ton for that, I'm a newb so I was afraid of trying to do too much at once and "over do " something to cause shock or damage.

Just mix a 1/4 strength nutrient solution and add some calmag again probably best to start a 1/4 strength so you dont over do it as there may be some calcium in the base nutes,
Adjust the ph of the mixture to ph 6.5 and feed to plants once dry. use only 1/4 strength because we don't know how much nutes the plants are still getting from the soil.

The other option is to just give them a stronger mix of base nutrients that already have calcium in to see if that sorts them out or just water and calmag ph 6.5 but i would go with option 1.

Again dont worry to much about it all its your first grow and i bet you do much better next time, You have to remember these things want to grow and all you can do is try and provide the best conditions possible at that time.
It took me prob 4 or 5 grows to get things nailed down in soil and everyone goes through that shitty time where everything seems so complex when it really isn't.

Happy Growing

I appreciate you taking your time to help this Newb.
I went with option #1
You explain things well, and I am grateful for the advise for my buds AND my brain!

Greetings Sir Neckpod !
Looking for one more out of you please.
You've been the best suited advice for my taste.
Option number #1 from above has seemingly started working, less full yellow, still low according to the rusty spots continuing but no new yellow death.
And I just watered again with only ph adjusted water. Will revisit next water but so far so good.
So, hopefully this will be the last time I will drag you into my mess but can you look at the photos.
One of top, followed by best shot of trichs I can get from same plant.
Last one is a random pic but best shot I got of the trichs.
I have about 4weeks left ( I think) and am racing unfavorable weather and would love to hear " pull em now" but I think I'm dreaming,
Your opinion please and thank you.

@Mr Nurse I agree you have some kind of cal/mag/iron thing going on.

I want to know more about your soil.

Also, what about watering? If you let them get really dry, then douche them hard every time that could be the cause of this. MG will grow good weed when used judiciously. Nutrient salt fertilizers aren’t scary, once you understand how they work. And organic fertilizers are not sme magic cure. Not saying it is bad, just not magical as some will have you believe. The plants literally cannot tell the difference, biologically, between nutrient salts and organic nutes, don’t let people tell you otherwise.

We need a shitpot more detail about your process and setup, and those plants are definitely not ready yet. You could harvest, but don’t.

Get Read Spear’s second book, consider his advice. It is the best how to manual on the shelf. I don’t think his grow methods are necessarily any better than some others I have seen, but the science and practical advice in the book is better than...everything else. All newbs should buy it immediately, I wish I had.
