BREAD PUDDING Oven 325 This is for a buttered 8 inch square baking dish so X as needed

2cups of milk
1/2 cup plus 2 Tablespoon sugar
3 large eggs
2 large eggs yolks
1 1/2 tsps, vanilla extract

7cups bread cubes
1 10oz frozen blueberries or other fruit of choice unthawed

Preheat oven. Butter container. Whisk milk, sugar, eggs, egg yolks and vanilla in a bowl. Place half of the bread on the bottom of the cooking container. Pour half of the custard over. I put half the blueberries on top of this. Add the rest of the bread. Pour the remaining custard over, and blueberries. Let stand 15 mins., ocassionally pressing on the bread to help absorb the liquid. Bake until pudding puffs and top begins to brown, about 1 hour and 15 mins. Serve with Maple Whiskey Sauce.

MAPLE WHISKEY SAUCE

1 cup of half and half
3 eggs yolks
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 Tbsp. whiskey (or rum, etc.)

Bring 1 cup of half and half to simmer in a heavy saucepan. Do no boil.
Whisk 3 egg yolks, 2 Tbsp. sugar and cornstarch in a medium bowl.
Gradually, whisk in the hot half and half. Return to the same saucepan and stir over medium-low hear until custard thickens and leaves a path on the back of the spoon. (about 3 min.) Strain if lumpy. DO NOT BOIL. Mix in maple syrup and whiskey. serve warm over bread pudding.
