lol gotta love the trollers.

they arrive in threads at the first few posts to talk trash, say their grows are better with their 6 total posts count and then shit on the whole strain.
Yeah i dont know whats better, him talking about another strain like its relevant in this thread or the fact he can tell how many grams are on the plant as it grows:lol:

Mmmmm... just vaped my first hit of home grown lemon skunk. What a delight! There was no smell during the grow, yet this strain smells so yummy, very citrusy. I am curing my harvest right now and I'm thinking about dropping some orange and lemon peels in the jars to enhance the smell into something exotic. Check out the pics!

The high is definitely mellow yet slightly functional, I was able to write up this review coherently :)

The strain is very resistant to pests (I had a slight mite infestation on another strain in the same closet, right next to the lemon skunk, and the skunk did not get affected!) and thrives in a low/med nutrient environment. A fun strain to grow.

Enjoy!

I did the GHS Lemon skunk last round and the smell and taste alone I give this strain a 8. I am doing 1GHS Lemon Skunk and 1DNA lemon skunk this time. I already know the GHS lemon skunk is some good shit.

Your pheno is way different than mine. I ordered feminized seed from Greenhouse. 4 ea of lemon skunk, hawaiian snow, super silver haze, big bang, white rhino. I have 3 different plants that are very different. At 8 weeks, I have one ready to harvest at 38". Beautiful and frosty. It has the skinniest leaves and it is all buds, hardly any leaves. Will be really easy to trim! 2nd one is almost 5 feet tall, really bushy because I topped it early. (i topped all of them, though)also has Sativa leaves. Also has a lot of buds, but not big thick long buds like my indica big bangs and white rhino (also currently growing). 3rd plant has thicker leaves with a more indica appearance. That is a month behind the other 2, but definitely different pheno.

Thanks for the report man I have a GHS Lemon skunk about to finish and have another seed of both GHS and DNA Lemon Skunk, looking forward to comparing the two. I hear they are very similar except the GHS version has abit more sativa influence, which may explain why most of you that said the high wasn't totally couchlocking were smoking the GHS version. The leaves on the DNA LS pic also look a bit fatter than my GHS.

After further review I have come to the conclusion that the Lemon Skunk both (GHS and DNA) are very unstable stretchy plants that take longer than normal to show sex (extra 5-10 days) Excellent smoke if you get the none stretchy phenotype. Taste and smell are amazing but not worth the gamble. Just my two cents.

Odd you mention this. We got a DNA Lemon Skunk, and once we threw it over to 12/12 it got completely out of line. Had to stake it over, and growing it sideways I guess.

I am growing DNA lemon skunk now, here is some pics of it in veg at around 2 weeks...It looks just like all the other pics on here, growing tall and with big sativa leaves not very far from the trunk..mine already has a slight smell in veg if you put your nose right on it

I was wondering if anyone was going to say something along the lines of what you said. I grew Green House Seeds Lemon Skunk twice and both times most plants were a sativa phenotype. They had skinny leaves like the Crypt Keepers fingers and you could forget about the double to triple in height in flower, mine jumped up almost SIX times in height. I do not recall the exact number of flowering weeks/days but it did take about a week and a half longer than the longest date flowering time and that was for mostly cloudy trichomes with a few clear remaining.

The high was mostly sativa, though I am NOT a lover of amber trichomes so maybe with some amber there would have been more couch-lock but mine was like a smooth but HIGH sativa high with about .5mg of Valium added later in the buzz …. after the speedy part slowed down then a very nice mellow replaced it.

One thing I noticed is mine seemed to become much better with a longer cure. A few days before harvest I nipped a sample bud and I got rather high from it. After drying I kept a few buds out and the rest went into jars. The herb did not seem as potent as the earlier sample bud. After about 2-weeks curing I tried it again and again it did not seem as potent as the early sample bud.

I had grown several other strains at the same time so I smoked them and let the Lemon Skunk sit thinking that it just was not all I had expected and had to wonder how it won a Cup. After I had smoked a fair bit of the rest of my harvest I figured I should work some Lemon Skunk into my toking since I had it and it would help make the ‘better’ stuff last longer.

After what I am guessing was about a month and a half to two months in jars the Lemon Skunk was like night and day in difference. I do not know if it is Green House Seeds Lemon Skunk genetics or just a freak occurrence in my case but it seemed to go downhill from the early test until harvest and then around 2-weeks in cure and then got way, WAY better after a long cure. Then I was capable of understanding why if won a Cup.

A short version of what to me is a funny story is I have neighbors that are cool, the wife and an old boyfriend used to sell pot when they were in high school and while in college, but later in life after getting married and having children she stopped and her hubby had stopped before then.

They asked me over for dinner and while there the husband was telling me about how frustrating things had been for them lately, they are trying to move and it has turned into a real pain, and he said if I had a joint on me he would be interested.

I had gotten high with his wife before they had gotten married but never with him and while I knew in the past he did I was not sure if he was joking. I slipped home and stuck a small bud in a little pipe and came back and said if he wasn’t joking we could get high.

After we ate the husband did one hit and the wife did about a hit and a half, one decent one and a baby toke. In no time at all while nice and high I was baby sitting both of them and their two kids.

The next day the wife called me and said “what the fu@k did you give us?” Both said they had never been so high.

Myself I would not rank Green House Seeds as highly as they have spoken about it since but it can be rather good and if someone grows it they might want to at least try curing some for a fair bit longer than usual and see if like in my case it becomes MUCH better.

Given its price it is one of the strains in Arjan's line I consider to be a good value.

I have grown both. GHS and DNA. I am not willing to gamble on phenotypes any longer. I have a DNA going now thats been going for almost 9 weeks..and still has at least 3 weeks to go. Great smoke ..but not worth the gamble. 56 max 63 days I am chopping ... now we talking 75 - 90 days.. Jesus fucking christ... I obviously got the sativa pheno..she was lST'ed and still fucking growing. I had to snap 3 colas and now they are growing horizontaly becasue she was growing into my light. Pain in the ass... On the bright side...looks like she will yield about 3 to 4 zones. Not bad for a girl that almost got the axe early. Everybody I know loved the GHS lemon skunk.. I did too.. but it is a big pain in the ass...lol my 2 cents

Really appreciate your comments on this strain its nice hearing from someone with experience but what makes you think there is a pheno that doesnt behave like this? Your just assuming or you actually know of one? because from everything I have read it seems everyone experiences these things with this strain on every grow

I am just saying out of all the strains I have grown...The Lemon Skunk varies in phenotypes the most. If you grow more than 5 and pick a mother you should be OK. But I grow from seed each grow and I get the sativa phenotype every time. Really starting to annoy me..lol Good Luck.

Reporting back in!

As mentioned before, we grew out one of the stretchy's.. Tall as hell, not alot of leaf or bud to stem ratio. But damn. Guess the best way I can explain it is, a LA super highway dead ending into small little towns. lol

pics are 1 week into curing.

How many days did you flower before chop? I have one now still going at week 9 some hairs just now starting to turn brown.

Just alittle under 8 weeks.. She might have been able to hold out for 1 more, but it just looked right I guess.

I almost completely agree with the first smoke report. My last grow included a couple of organic lemon skunks. In comparison to my other plants, the lemon skunk did stretch a tad more and yield a bit less. I wouldnt say a bad yield (indoors) at all, just not awesome.

Being a new grower, I did notice the Lemon skunk (greenhouse seeds) was very resilient. I LST'd the holy crap out of them and they responded with more growth. I also abused them with earth juice about as much as anyone could. Did I mention I had really shitty watering techinques then? Anyhow, thru all my noob ass BS, the lemon performed well, and had 100% success ratio.

The buzz was kind of uplifting for me, even though I waited into amber trichs for harvest. I would rate the buzz about a 6/10. As with all buds, before it was cured very well, it tasted very green, and the flavor masked anything else. After about 2 weeks of curing, the skunk smell and flavor kicked in. I had no problem tasting the lemon, and it was very pleasant, not chemical at all!! I prefer a harder "hit your lungs smoke", but my girlfriend loved the smoothness and light flavor of lemon skunk. As far as flavor and being a very pretty bud, i give the gal 9/10.

In fact, I have decided to run an 8 set of short lemon skunk in my next hydro rotation. Planted 1 bean, got one mother, and off we go ;-)! I think ppl are going to love the uniqueness of it, the flavor that matches the name, and the social buzz. Kudos for Greenhouse lemon skunk!!

So my DNA Lemon Skunk is now nearing 3ft tall indoors and I just put into flower after 2 months veg under 1000W MH it is from seed, its going to be huge..This strain is indeed really different from most mj plants. It is very tall and has very few leaves and the leaves are really skinny sativa like leaves..There is really not any places to take clones from I will maybe get 1 or two clones from it - I definitly wanna keep it around its very resiliant and grows tall but in a way it could be considered a little bit to much for most peoples grow space...This plant is HUGE..even if you trained it your still going to end up with a monster. If you got the room this is a really cool strain as far as growing, I wouldnt try growing this in a cabinet or closet or something small you could hurt the yeild pretty bad she really needs the room to STRETCH - Very Very Stretchy

She is pictured here in the front left after about 6 weeks of veg

I just finished a DNA lemon. I did not like it. Yield was poor...it was fussy...finished in Indica time frame BUT that was by trichs...it was still kicking out new hairs. I've only grown 4 strains...but DNA lemon skunk was the most problematic and the smallest yield.

I've tried some 1 week cured LS...it's nice...light floral taste...but not really getting too much lemon yet...the smoke itself though smells lemony/floral. Hoping the taste matches the smell with a few more weeks in the jar. The high is somewhat stoney...so I couldn't have chopped too early. (I saw enough amber already that I knew waiting for the new growth would be a wash)
