Thy seeds are sowed.
Starting a journal for this hydroponic grow. From past experience, and endless reading and learning, I wanted to experience hydroponics and apply what I have learned. Hopefully I can apply said learnings properly and this experience will be fruitful.

Seed Strain: Lemon Drip via Lemonnade

Current endeavor employs the following equipment/products:
~ AC Infinity 4x4 tent kit (Ionboard S44 400w LED Light included)
~ PA Hydroponics 2 plant kit w/ reservoir
~ Levoit VeSync Classic 300s Ultrasonic Smart Humidifier
~ Hanna Instruments GroLine ph/tds/temperature meter
~Grodan Rockwool Cubes

nutrients:
~GH Flora Series Trio (Gro, Micro, Bloom)
+ Rapid Start
+ Armor Si
+ CaliMagic
+ PH up, PH down
~3% Hydrgon Peroxide
~API POND Chlorine & Heavy Metal Neutralizer

Current Conditions:
I have only used GH RapidStart, 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and tap water so far.
~Lighting = 20% power, 24’’ above seedling, 18/6 schedule
~Temperature = 70f-74f
~Humidity = 80%-83%IMG_0106.jpegIMG_0047.jpeg

Day 9:
I have to assume by the faded discolored leaves I may be pushing too much light. Decided to lower the seedling down vs. raising or turning down the power of the light. Roots have now showed face at the underside of the Rockwool cube. Will wait a few more days for roots to secure themselves more before I drop the cube in its dedicated bucket. Am keeping an eye on the light situation if nothing changes with the leaves in a few days I will consider it another problem.

Note to self: F**K Rockwool

Day 11:
Placed Rockwool inside of its netpot today considering that the seedling had a lot of exposed roots. Also was talked into using a different brand of nutrients that I don’t see a lot of people using. The brand is “Ventana Plant Science”. I have the full hydro lineup. I guess I’ll be the crash dummy for this line. Dropping the GH Trio. I’ll report how it works out for me.IMG_0174.jpeg

This plant is now RIP

What went wrong:

Traded a sterile reservoir for a beneficial bacteria reservoir. When I added the bennies I had accidentally added them in with a 1 gallon solution of hth pool shock That I had mixed up with my gallon jugs of distilled water. The results was killing all bennies on contact. This induced an optimal environment for the bad bacteria to feed on, resulting in slime. Brown Slime everywhere from the air stone to the roots. Washed off the roots nipped the noticeably infected roots, and sterilized everything. After careful consideration I’ve decided to chalk this one up as a loss. Plant was beginning to wilt and I feel it would take a longer time nursing this plant back to health vs. Starting from scratch with a clone.

What I learned:

If it isn’t broke do not fix it. I started sterile I should have stayed sterile. Adding Bennie’s is something I still want to do but I decided to get a few hydro grows under my belt before I venture into that again. Let it grow. Label everything.
