LED vs HID

Lets get it!

This is my high tech scientific study of HID vs LED.

Only comparing one side of HID vs LED tent, spaces are 4x4 vs 5x5 but the hood covers a 4x4 in HID tent.
HID light output is 600w Hortilux.
LED side is 2x area 51 lighting, 1x blackstar lighting.

Going to run 1 plant under each, cutting is an elite clone of golden goat, will be updating.

What is the wattage of those leds? And cheers, it's always fun to perform science experiments.

The area 51 lights are approx. 150-160watts each and the blackstar is 170watts approx. so I would estimate between 450-500watts of led draw, that's measuring with my kill-a-watt meter.

I won't be using my turbo boost feature on my ballast because it damages the bulb and they are very expensive so I try to get maximum bulb life and 10% increase isn't worth it to me.

SO if im understanding this correctly the hid is in a 5x5 tent, but you're only going to utilize 4x4? Then the led is in a actual 4x4?

are you going to get them tested at the end?

The area 51's have only gone through one grow and the blackstar has gone through 5-6 grows, the HID lights are new.

yes I'm recycling my joke from 2 years ago. Nothing goes to waste lol

Still vegging , did not forget about this post , plants are just growing under my MH now gonna get them big enough to take up the entire area on both LED and HPS areas. 2-4 more weeks and I will have the plants in flower , will be doing 2 golden goats under each side in 10 gallons of soil.
