Led Users Unite!

CFLs took over a wk to see any change. The LEDs have the herbs getting fuzzy just 3 days in. More frost on more leaves now and they should finish a wk sooner. But I'm doing this 15 plant growage indoors, in soil for calm after 2 nervous breakdowns. It's fun to "veg" out and smoke whilst growing herbs.

Awesome thanks for the tip. I have a second 450w viparspectra led should I add it in there? Or are the lights I have in there now sufficient?
I would add it ... Move the other two over ... Center the bigger one with the 450s on each side .. Drop to 18" on all panels.

Hey - so I am doing my first run with 600w LED lights red blue white spectrum with separate buttons for each .. All is well, and starting 12/12 cycle .. So I have a super newbie question- Do I use only the red..or Red& blue combined spectrum during this time?? Or continue thru flowering stage with all three red, blue, white?? I've searched and cannot find the answer and all the YouTube videos are super red leading me to believe to turn off the white???

All 3! You want as much light as possible with the 3 switch panels. What did you use for veg? Are you using Vectra?

Thanks for the inspiration RIU!!IMG_2061.JPG IMG_2060.JPG

One step closer to joining the COB kids club! Heatsinks and driver are on the way :bigjoint:

I've had these babies going under a blurple, (Mars Hydro 600 basic 278 real watts) and they will be going under the 6 Veros as soon as it is assembled!

The big one is a Jack Herer seed out of a bag from a caregiver friend and is around 40 days old. It has been topped once to make 4 main branches and once more to give me 8. I then staked down those 8 branches, and she has bushed out like crazy.
IMG_2071.JPG
The middle on is Blue Dream from Humboldt and the one on the right is Critical Kush from Barnie's farm, both feminized seeds 29 days old. Both have also been topped twice and staked down.

These mars hydro lights have a terrible reputation, but for a small space and small amount of plants, it has done a nice job. Very tight spacing between nodes across all 3 strains. As long as it doesn't crap out on me before my COB is built, I'll be happy.

I plan on vegging under a screen for two more weeks with the new light, unless it fills up before then, and I will make the flip.

First grow here guys, trying to do everything right!

Thanks for all the input and awesome advice!:weed:

I'm looking to to do around 8 Citizen 1212's and drive them at or near full power, and would like to veg/flower with it. But i keep seeing mixed opinions on using just 3500k or a mixture of different spectrums? Can anyone clear this up or steer me in the right direction?

Hey everybody who is using LEDs out there. Lets join up and start chattin about this and that. Figuring crap out. Seeing what works for you, but not me, etc. etc.

It would be much appreciated if only people who USE CURRENTLY leds for mostly full grows, or vegetative grows using only LEDs.

HID users, we already know you are better than us, and your buds are bigger than ours. But there is a first time for everything, and a new beginning at ever end of something old.

ALSO IF YOU ARE AN LED SALESMAN TRYING TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT THIS IS NOT THE THREAD FOR YOU! STAY AWAY! IF YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH A COMPANY AND HAVE BIAS FEEDBACK WITHOUT RESULTS. STAY AWAY!

Thank you all, and I hope this thread EXPLODES in growth...

LED USERS UNITE!

What is the grow period for LED's..Does it take a lot longer. I haven't really heard many folk's talking about it. Really, any light is a good light for a plant, some are just more powerful than some. So descriminating against a certain light is just plain ignorance, especially if you've never tried them yourself, so all the hater's can pipe down! lol, for real
I find flowering takes longer with led.

Not so at my house! I run mostly 3500k to 4000k cob grow lights and some high quality leds(a51) white or red/white and my flowering times are about 1to maybe 4 days faster than hps or old cmh or my old blurple LEDs. This has held true for well over a year across strains.

More bud, better bud than hps, and just a tick quicker and I never noticed this with blurple leds with which I am well experienced.
