that's a cool tap, does it work well? the spring clip looks a little funky, but if it works well might replace my hand tap wrench.

Cool! I get my new lights this week to. I'm excited & im sure plenty of people will knock my choices. But I did my homework & am aware of my purchases strong points & weak. After studying your new SolarStorm 220, you obviously wanted it for your reasons. Congraduations on your new purchase. Let us know how you fair with it as many people that own them seem to post they are happy campers & others who've done research on specs tend do disagree. But, they do use quality components & have been around for a bit with the first to my knowledge to make their bigger light with UV T-5 bulbs. So at least they're trying to keep a unique product design I think. Grow away n let us know you're opinion as you are using it. Peace!

Cuz I got my first hundred CXB3590 3500K CD BIN COB LED chips, in 25 modules, each and every last one of them running at 54W.

I'm almost ready to fire them up and see what they'll do.

Actually, the guy who built them for me did a great job, considering the crazy bastard he had for a customer.

I got exactly what I wanted in a very reasonable time frame, considering the nature of my specifications.

Frankly, it was a fucking bargain, too. The first thing I did was reorder. The second thing I did was see to it he got a raise!

I'm chronicling my misadventures on my thread, in my sig line. There have been plenty... The most recent being throwing every unit but two onto a concrete floor. All were undamaged. No, really.

I can't wait until they're actually doing what they were designed for.

Nice. I believe in white light too as the Burple is RQE. Albiqua taught me that a few months ago. At the time I was convinced a Burple light could actually produce just as much quality bud as it was proven with the BML Spydr Grow-Max spectrum as well as other documented grows. I thought if they can keep up or do better with RGB lights then how can white ever be more efficient? Now I believe filling the entire Photosynthetic Action Spectrum will increase overall plant performance. And now they make very efficient white phosphar lights. Even peaking R+B more for horticulture. Soon there will be more documented grows as the white light revolution takes off & DIY. Then soon enough there will be direct comparisons to actually see the difference. I'm doing this now just to see a high claims comp. against a full transparency comp. & do an RQE vs PAS. We'll see how the YPF difference truly effects the plants & the differences, yield & quality.
714steadyeddie is just happy to get his new light. Good for him. Actually wish I was building DIY myself. So good luck on yours. I'm sure you'll get top quality light to your girls for less $$$ & a better spread.

Yeah I researched those too. On paper they look pretty good. Best of luck!

I'll give you a piece of advice; stop "believing" in technology. Learn your physics and engineering and learn to recognize the difference between performance advances and bullshit...example;

I didn't go five figures deep into CXB3590 chips on a fucking whim, brother! I did my homework, I found informed people and discussed the state of the technology with them to get their perspective and I worked to make certain I could use them to deliver improved performance before I ordered them.

Do that, and your equipment choices will never fail you.

RQE=Relitive Quantum Efficiency (Burple)
PAS=Potosynthetic Action Spectrum (white)
YPF=Yeild Photon Flux
PPF=Photosynthetic Photon Flux
All very important things to understand if you want to know exactly why you like your CXB3590's aside from their efficiency & efficacy. I'm all about them too. Hense the Amare with CXB3070's & the Pro-9 I'm getting with CXB3590's. I've done my research & decided on this commercial panel if I wasn't gonna build. So my commercial panel is up to par on physics & engeneiring unless you can explain otherwise. All top-bin Cree. My plants Yeild plenty enough for me to afford them especially when the owner is easy to work with. He'll give you a deal.
I did the exact opposite. I had my own custom built. I'm extremely pleased.
That's cool you had one built but you had to pay someone so doesn't that defeat the purpose of being a DIY guy therefor placing you with the less smart guys like me who would buy a panel or at least in the same boat. Shit, plenty of DIY guys built all Cree or Vero units that they manufactured & are great with the best components & transperancy. Best you can buy w/o actually doing it yourself. Does that mean buying them is a mistake? Maybe I just don't understand what's being replied to me. ?
Anyways, were the above comments referring to the Solar-Storm or the Amare?

i have 2 5x9 tents that will be set up soon as i can build my new cob rig
#1: (12) 2015 SS220s @ 900 ppfd
#2: (split into 3 'sections' of 3000K, 3500, and 4000K) 3590s @ 900 ppfd
