COBheads should let NASA know they are doing it wrong! /sarcasm off

Seriously, though, check out what colour LEDs NASA uses in space to grow their Red Romaine.

lol 420 is doing censorship and are deleting posts that tell people that COB lightning destroys platinum.
Somehow they aren't banning (yet).

They aren't any different than the people they claim to hate.
They criticize government for lobbying, suppressing the marijuana industry and censorship yet they do exactly the same thing as they are being lobbied by fraudulent-like growlight producers and are censoring those who want to inform the people on better alternatives.

It's just pure hypocrisy on their part.
420 is rabid on the led thing. i got banned a few days ago. I go messages from the moderator telli g me not to talk about lights that are not sponsored on 420. Then i got told by a moderator not to talk about 420s policies.

Platinum.sponsors many of the top growers there.they get great results....using 2400w in a 4x4.

Back in the day member hosebomber used to keep it real But after he retired i was the only subversive voice. BANNED

This is when i mentioned realstyles as a valuable sourcing assett:
"Hope all is well in your world.

This message is to inform you that your post in the thread entitled, "DIY LED CXB 3070 or 3590" has been deleted. Unfortunately, we do not allow public discussions of previously banned members.

For more information, please refer to our Questions & Answers - Previously Banned Members & Banned Websites.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your understanding and support, we are truly grateful.

Sending you lots of love and positive energy."

This is when i mentioned thast 420 has a policy of not allowing non sponsored grow lights:

Hope all is well in your world.

We are reaching out to ask you not to discuss our guidelines in public posts, please. Your post in the thread "The Basics Of Plant Lighting" has been edited. If you ever need to know the reason for a guideline, please PM a moderator and we'll be happy to explain. If you disagree with a guideline, that's your view, but every one is there for a good reason and debating them in public serves no positive purpose.

Regarding your point of us not allowing links to LED manufacturers who are not sponsors, this is to prevent spam and sock-puppets from non-sponsor LED companies seeking to promote their product here for free. This is mis-representation to our members and unfair to our Sponsors, the income from whom pays for this website. There's more information on this in the Forum Guidelines and in the LED Sponsor Guidelines.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your understanding and support, we are truly grateful.

Sending you lots of love and positive energy.

Teddy Edwards

Here's when i just gave a basic primer on led tech and efficiency:

Thanks for your PM. Your post was deleted because, as the previous advisory detailed, we do not allow discussion of, or linking to, other cannabis related forums. It was not deleted because of information, help or support given on DIY LEDs.

We welcome discussions on DIY - indeed, we have our Do It Yourself forum dedicated to it.

Concerning our LED sponsors, we are grateful for every one. It is their income that funds this site where you and tens of thousands of others can exchange information on all aspects of cannabis, its cultivation and medical uses. This all leads to furthering our Mission.

We completely respect your ability to build your own lights, but many do not have that level of skill. Our range of LED sponsors provide products from the value to the premium end, allowing members less adept at DIY to grow using them. We have no evidence that any of our sponsors are:
sheisters that fleece members.
If any were, and got through our vetting procedure, they would quickly be exposed by our members.

Greenest Regards,

Teddy Edwards

This is just before i got banned. I mentioned riu as *** so not sure if that did it. I did refer a grower to the logical gardener to learn about biochar, maybe thats it?

420 has some good parts but it does have a cowering idiot type vibe and also the LED area has ZERO folks with any good understanding.

This message is to inform you that your post in the thread entitled, "The Basics Of Plant Lighting" has been deleted. We apologize for the inconvenience, however we do not allow discussing, recommending or linking to other Cannabis related forums, blogs, listings or networking communities. In the past, allowing posts to these websites has gotten out of hand with non sponsored product spam and attempts to recruit our members.

420 Magazine allows linking to most other websites for the purpose of providing a reference, however certain websites pose a problem from a standpoint of competition. Most cannabis websites are private companies, and as such operate based on income in order to pay human resources and overhead expenses. The various sites are all competing for sponsorship and sponsors base their decisions on traffic. Because of this, we ask our members to refrain from posting or linking to other 420 related websites.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your understanding and support, we are truly grateful.

Sending you lots of love and positive energy.

It's been a while since I shared any plant updates. So I thought I'd post a quickie here. This is the OG LED thread and hasn't had any plant pictures in a while so figured it was time. 5 Mendo Breath vegged out for 3.5 weeks in 2 gallon fabric pots. 2 days into 12/12. They're nice and healthy, and have stayed rather short. From what I've been told, they aren't supposed to stretch much. Using an Apache Tech AT200 and Area51 SGS-160. The last picture is a nug of the mendo a buddy grew out. We both use CANNA and grow in coco. I'll post some a few more updates when the flowers start setting in. Peace.

Awesome quotes of the pm's from the internets worst and most corrupted forum:420mag. i supplied proof that sarah and alva from lgled or mars-hydro or topled or whatever they now call themselves to not get recognized as the bad quality lying and misleading manufacturer and i got warned from admin so i answered i had all proofs on mails from them but they did not want to know. they say the users would let them know if a sponsor did anything illegal or not good but they dont. they are corrupted and bannes all who tries to tell most of their led sponsors is shit.

This is the company that designed the LED lights for NASA from what I gather.

http://www.orbitec.com/store/sunbow.html

Check out the light in that link. Impressive.

lol too funny.
Exposure to the Martian regolith simulant may pose some health risks due to the fine particles. JSC MARS-1A has slight hazard on inhalation and eye contact which may cause irritation to eyes and respiratory tract. There has been research into the toxicity of the simulants to the body cells. JSC MARS-1 is considered to have dose-dependentcytotoxicity. Therefore, it is recommended for precautions to minimize fine dust exposure in large-scale engineering applications.
Don't know about plant growth but sure don't sound to healthy

Hello I am wanting to get a build together for a 3x3 area maybe a little bigger around 400-500 actual watts of led can someone give me a complete parts list for a cree 3590 diy led for around 700-800$

Hey guys! Im getting tired of my SGS-160 not maxing out my 2x3 sq feet. Should I buy 3 of the new ones, or get a DIY fixture for those 500 USD, and if so, how should I spend those bucks? I hope for some cool input, despite being somewhat of the more recent topics. :)

You only need about 270-300 watts for a 3'x3' space. (3'x3') x 30w/sq ft = 270 watts. (4'x4') x 30w/sq ft = 480 watts.
If you go with CXB3590 (CB bin) you would need 6 x CXB3590 CB 36V/72V to get 293 watts @ 51.67% efficient. 36volt @ 1.4A, 72V @ 0.7A. HLG-185H-C1400 will run 4 CXB3590 36V and HLG-185H-C700 would handle 4 CXB3590 72V

You can run 8 COB'S with two power supplies in either configuration to give you roughly 400 watts that could also be dimmed down.
