LED Stealth Filing Cabinet Build/Grow"

So the mylar finally came! It's a lot thinner then I expected so ended up spending a good few hours today setting up. All done now and fark its bright in there! I've gotta wear sunglasses just to look in there when the LED is on!

Here's some pics of it:

Day 14:

It looks to be going on strong at the moment, the newest leaves look a bit shrivelled so I moved it away from the LED (Was only about 4" away at the time, now about 6").

Still deciding on whether to top it,LST it or SCROG it, it'll only be able to grow about 30cm tall but I want to fill out the whole space width-wise.

Any suggestions on this would be sick, cheers.

If you top it properly, you'll get the best results, assuming you'll go for scrog!!

It's a bit young for this though!!

Cheers!!

How much longer do you think until I can top it? It doesn't have much more height to play with and I wanted to top it 2 or 3 times before I started SCROGing it.

At work at the moment but will post some photos up when I get home, it's definitely grown quite a bit since the last pictures.

Cheers for all the help so far guys

Hey man!
I think it's about time you topped it now, or in a couple new nodes!
I have a friend who planned on SCROGing his and was late. (He didn't wanna hurt them!)
As a result he didn't do it and got ne main cola.
Just don't leave it much more if you wanna SCROG, or at least, don't be a pussy! :joint:
Joking!

She seems great!!

Cheers!!

Cheers guys, when I top it next do I do the same thing but with both shoots?

Then it'll be time to switch to 12/12 and fill up a screen!

You got it right!

Just plan ahead looking for the spots the main stalks are going to go.
Probably they'll be higher so they'll go farther in the screen, in a corner or sthn!
They also need some bending in the cases I've seen!!

Cheers!!

Made my screen for the SCROG this evening, do you guys think I should make the holes bigger by snipping one row out of every two?

At the moment the holes are 25mm x 25mm, snipping one out would obviously make it 25mm x 50mm, what are the thoughts of experienced SCROGers out there?

I would say yes, but just as a safety precaution if it gets too fat. Might look okay for the 1st 6 weeks and then you don't want to have a problem.....
Try cutting a couple of squares when the time comes and plan accordingly. Looks good, you should have a nice stretch going on.!

:peace:

I've read through your log here and have a couple of questions for you. How heavy is your light fixture? Now if it isn't 25 lbs or more, I think you could have used smaller hooks and smaller chain. Smaller chain would allow you to make smaller height adjustments and smaller hooks would give you more room to grow. More room to grow allows for larger buds. Just my 2 copper coins....
Also if you want to cut down on the noise, you can get cork sheets that are 12" x 12" to line your box with and put the mylar over the cork. I lined the inside of my cabinet with cork sheets before installing the dishwasher. It helped a lot for cutting down noise for that so it should work for fans too. Good luck on your grow.

Hey bro, thanks for looking through my log!

With regards to the weight of the light fixture, it's probably only a kilogram or 2 but the only issue is that I can't actually have it any higher to the roof of the box due to the power cable coming out of the top of the light.

Cork sheets are a great idea, maybe for next time I start up but I think the majority of the noise is from the exhaust fan so I probably should have invested in a voltage/speed controller. Thanks for your advice mate!

So my plant is now 25 days old (just ticked over midnight here) and I'm wondering whether I'd be good to change to 12/12? It's almost reached the screen and I'd predict it to make it there in the next 18-36hrs of light. I'd post some pictures of it but it's currently sleeping so kinda droopy and doesn't look super awesome like when it's got the LED on it. I figure with the 8-12 weeks it'll take to flower that I could probably jump to 12/12 and still comfortably fill the screen (which is 34x42cm for reference).

Thanks guys!

I don't know your location, but you may want to search around on some electronic, electrical websites for a angled plug or 90 degree plug for your light. It could give you a few more inches of growing space.

RTV or silicone is another option for mounting your fan, also you could make a rubber gasket to go between the fan and the box. I know everything on the submarines were mounted to rubber feet for making them quieter.
