said i wouldn't post new threads here again, but even though i got a lot of slack in my last thread, i still received valuable inf so... here we go again.
I was thinking about trying my first shot at a diy light using warm white CREE XML2 led's. on a few sites i visited, i can get prices, but it asks for pcb thickness of 16mm or 2mm. is thicker here better?
also what is a good price for 5 of these shipped? price per 5 stays the same, so $17.50 shipped too much for 50 watts of cree xml2 warm whites? ($3.50 each delivered)

thanks in advance

I would recommend the cxa1304 over the xlm2. Much cheaper and more options when it comes to driving them.

of those two, which would be cheaper and easier to power? looking for a warm white variant, maybe even a few cool white.

and how are they mounted? the ones i looked at had like a star it was on with holes, the page i looked at for both of those only show the leds not the mount

why have a public forum for questions and answers, if you need to be a member of some special led club to be able to post a question and get an answer? makes no sense at all. nobody could understand why someone who repeatedly stated they were looking for specific type of info, nothing else., would get mad at him(i'm referencing my other thread where blankface obviously had a problem with me and proceeded to follow me here to further piss me off) Obviously it's too hard for sethimus to stay out of a thread if he/she/it is not willing to positively contribute to it.

and again thank you

it has nothing to do with how i asked my question. if i canceled my membership here and mad a new one with a new name, he wouldn't have a problem with any question the new username would have, only if i signed in with this name. proving it'snot the question he has a problem, it's me. so go have a wonderful day, and latch on to a new screen name for you to take offense to. you must have a lovely life for this to be the highlight of your day, or the way you vent...on people who can't swing back directly at you.... the safe way...from behind your keyboard... you warrior.

That price seems cheap, Those bare led emitters are between 5 and 8 dollars a piece at mouser.com and the thermal stars are $1 a piece. You need to keep in mind led's are usually run at half power so you are likely paying for 25 watts of led. Post a link to what you're looking at so we can see what you're talking about.

I don't have the patience to read threw all this so what do you really want to know about the xlm2 vs 1304 vs 1507.

also you sure your looking at the right stuff. Usually a bar xlm2 is around $7 and another $1 for the star. Unless your getting some bottom of the barrel bin.

XM-L2s are soo last week...we've moved on. (3070s, 3590s and VEROs)

Anyhoo, here's a link for some XP-L mounted onto 20mm stars. Don't know anything about the BINS or tint though.
