...led's...interesting concept but i don't trust 'em...

...the only reason i say that is cuz i have seen many lighting systems come and go yet i still buy 400w hps kits...

try these guys out...a little more advanced than this site...

save yer money buy hps. I will say I love my LED's (Procyon 100 & UFO) for vegging though... pretty damn costly veg light though

LED are getting better, but there are still issues with the spectrums of light they emit. i have seen that most good LED grow boards these days have three spectrums plus infrared. mostly dominated by red 650-660. What they really need to do is cover all the visible light spectrums and non visable beneficial spectrums and then focus on red o r blue for bloom/veg lights. check out the graphs for hps output vs mh output at a grow store. then check out an LED output. or just imagine it being three savage spikes in output with nothing inbetween.

CFL is comprable for a thousandth the price.

i know nasa grows with LED. but they probably do have all the spectrum covered

cheers

In my opinion and tried. Led are not there yet. the more expensive ones from HID HUT will work tho. I have tried other companies ufo they stop stretching and help clones root. but unless you build your own with hi output led's you will be spending a lot of loot

Here are some plants that my friend is growing under 504W (4 x 126W units) of LED. She is using a 2' x 4' aero tray, the plants stand about 2.5' tall, and the oldest plants are at 5 weeks in. Anyhow, thought you might like these.

The proof of the pudding will be if the buds are hard or fluffy. Can you report on that?

BTW...nice looking plants>

They're more dense than I've ever been able to achieve under HID. The lights are made specifically for MJ though. The penetration on them is really good, which may be why the buds aren't light and fluffy like a lot of others grown under eBay LED's.

We have 400 watts of 1watt LED's (wavelength speced out) and also have 2 600W HPS....get super nice bud sets.

Treeth up thar has an LED grow going that is looking good...talk about it Treeth > Give a link

I'm personally running 1512W of LED, all 1W's, spaced out over a 5' x 6' canopy. The results are amazing. My plants have never been healthier, and I've never seen so much bud on such little plants (2').

The ratio is 70% red, 20% White, 10% Blue. The wavelengths are: 440nm, 470nm, 640nm, 660nm, 740nm, and 3000k white. Pictures are attached, although my plants aren't all that far along into bloom... My canopy area is 5' x 6'.

Those girls of yours are HOT!!!! How much did that setup of lights set you back...thats awesome. Whaddya think about starting seedlings under a 15w led panel?

Retail on the lights is $4800 for all 12. Luckily I pay wholesale, but it still cost me quite a bit!

Seedlings do well under most lighting, so they should do ok under a 15W LED. I don't know if a 15W panel is going to take them any farther than a clone/seedling though. I'm unfamiliar with a 15W panel, but I'm assuming it uses a lot more than 15 LED's, which means it's a low-wattage unit. If that's the case, then seedlings/clones are about all it will be able to do.

Yea thats what I need it for. I took a cardboard avon box from my girlfriend, lined it with mylar, cut a hole in the cover and set my led panel on top of it. check it out. I figure it would be a nice little home for my seed starting and clones.

It looks like you've found about the most efficient way of using that light! Congrats on the little box, I think it's cool :bigjoint:
