What’s up RIU members? I’m a long time follower, first time poster. Looking forward to the feedback on my posts so please feel free to ask questions.

So what I have here is a 4x4 tent that I got off of Amazon. Honestly, don’t know the make but I’ve been using it for years now. The construction just wasn’t up to par so I built a light hanger out of some 2x4’s so the thing wouldn’t collapse. I used a 600-watt with a big ol’ hood for the longest time with decent results so I decided to change it up a bit. I wanted to go the LED route so I picked up a couple FLIP LED grow lights. They have 5-watt diodes, 15band spectrum as well as selectable spectrums at a good price point. I don’t know much about LEDs but from what I’ve seen these lights work great.

Here’s what I’m running now:

Tent – 4x4 Unknown Manufacturer

Ventilation – 600 cfm blower + carbon filter

Medium – Fox Farm Ocean Forest in 3 Gallon Smart Pots

Lighting – (2) 720 watt FLIP LED grow lights

Nutrients – Botanicare CNS17 lineup + Sweet, Hydroplex, Calmag and Liquid Karma

Water – Straight from the hose

Strains: Ice, Chem 91

This grow is already a few weeks into bloom so I’ll give you a little background info. Started from clone. Vegged for about 3 weeks before starting bloom with 1 of those weeks being under a MH. I start my clones in hydro and transfer to soil. I feel the girls get a much stronger start that way. I’ll start the journal at about week 1-ish of bloom and fast-forward a couple weeks to the present. This is my first LED grow so wish me luck!

Week 1ish

Light Schedule – 12/12 (both bloom and veg spectrums on)

Temps – 83-85 (was at 90+)

Nutrients – CNS17 Bloom, Liquid Karma, Sweet (I alternate plain water and nutes)

PH – 6.4 or so

Alright, here we are at about the start of week 1 of bloom. Maybe week 1 1/2 . I apologize for the inaccuracies of my timeline. I need to get better organized, haha.

No feeding up until this point. I just relied on what the soil already had. I’m pretty sure I haven’t feed them any bloom nutes yet. I was having some venting issues and temps were getting a little hot. I think this had an effect on the plants as some leaves starting hooking and other cupped upward. General stunting all around. I think there was an adjustment period from the week of MH to the LED as well. Chem 91 is definitely looking like it likes the LED better so far.

Things are looking a little better in there. We’re at the start of week 2 of bloom and new growth isn’t looking bad. I do think I’ve been watering too much though. Gonna let them dry out a bit and see if that helps growth. I’ve been alternating my nutrients and plain water and I see no signs of nute burn. Temps have been sorta stable even though it feels like Crematoria outside. I need to further improve my venting but it’s not bad for now.

Start of week 3 bloom. Now we’re talking. Every since drying them out a bit they took off. I also see precious little flowers forming. Can’t wait to see what LEDs can do! I’ve upped my nutrients and added Hydroplex to the mix. Why did I do this? Because the schedule told me to do it. I also added a new friend, some Alien Grenade. She’s the little sickly one in the middle front. Not real high hopes but should be interesting. Just putting out my feelers to see if it’s worth running in the future.

Man, that was a scorcher of a week temps got pretty high and my hopes got pretty low...but all it well! The days and nights have started to cool down so I think I made it through the worst of it. I do have a plant that is looking pretty yellow. It's the one right in the middle. I think I'm watering it too much. Gonna back off. There's some nice flowers forming now and I'm especially happy with the Chem 91. Very manageable growth. Looks like it might be a good yielder too. All in all I think everything is looking pretty good. On to week 5.

Alright, so it's been a crazy week of power outages. Hopefully there's no negative effects on the girls. Electricity went out for 2 days. I don't see it being a problem though. Everything is back to normal now and I'm just staying consistent with my maintenance. Chem 91 has kinda thin branches so the flower forming is weighing them over. I had to tie some branches to the tent frame. A couple plants have some yellowing leaves which I think is attributed to continued over watering. I just can't seem to get it right for two plants. Either it's too much or too little. The little Alien Grenade plant in the front is doing pretty good considering what it looked like when I put it in the tent.

What's up guys, if you're following my cabinet grow then you'll know if been out of the loop lately. Sorry for the lack of updates. So here we are, around week 8 and my tent has acquired a lot of string, ha. These nugs are getting so plump and dense the branches can't take it. It a nice problem to have. Love these LED's so far. I'm finishing them off under the bloom spectrum only rather than both spectrums that I had before. I might also give them one more blast of nutes before starting the flush.

I harvested a couple days ago and will have updates for you soon. The Ice looks like it turned out fantastic. Dense and sticky. The Chem 91 not so much. It's a little airy and doesn't have much of a stink to it. I might have also let them go too long but I definitely not a fan. I am a fan of the FLIP LED's though. These things grew some of the biggest nugs I've grown in this tent. I've done Ice both under HPS and these LED's and the LED's put out a better product all other things being equal. I'll have pictures for you soon.

Here's a pic of the Ice. Dense and sticky, smells like hash.

Here's the Chem 91. Not so dense, not so sticky but very nice flavor with a fruity smell. After all was said and done it turned out ok.
