Yes I think with IR all you will be getting is heat which would normally not be a good plan unless you leave up at the N. Pole or something like that. Now I been running UVB bulbs for a year or 2. Started out with a 10% CFL Lizzard Light and it will scorch your babies bad if you leave it on long enough. Wound up breaking the bulb and went down to a 5% which will also scorch if your not careful. I run it one hour per day in bloom. Might could run it longer but I'm gun shy after after having charred the crops a few times.

Drynroasty I actually just added 2 one gallon sugar yeast set ups to my grow last week
Greensister & Bigwheel I have the 2 2 foot 10% UVB that I run 14 hours a day and haven't had a problems I run the IR for 5 mins before the lights come on and 5 mins after they go off. I heard it was suppose to imitate sunrise and sunset that you just want to wash the plants with the IR light, Its not really visible to the naked eye, they are 50 watts and I have 2 of them and they don't put off that much heat.

yeah bean,

i don't know what i think about ir after this past grow...

my girls, sativa dom, took a damn long time to show, when I thought they'd be busted fucking quick. I think the only way to see if it works would be to force flowering at 16 hours instead of 12.

it seems like such a silly idea over here... good thing its ed rosenthal approved.

I have 5 26w 10% exoterra uvb's inches from my plants... and no adverse affect yet... just way more resin on those waaay more sexy bits...

I'm by no means a guru, but i know how to read. Search the forums for UVB light and there was some good reads both on this site, and linked to other sites.

UVB seems to help resin & trich production in late flowering. From what i have seen, it helps. UVB lights do come with some warnings and a "semi strict" way to use them. Read up on it, dont just take my word for it.

Happy Growing.
