I like the CRI on your set up. Nice budz

Sent from my XT1060 using Rollitup mobile app
Thanks, really liking the bud output with these lights. The CRI and all specs on this thing were amazing, I had posted specs including a spectral chart early on in this thread, why I decided to try it. For once, it looks like specs are matching deliverables ;)

Quick update, not sure if I'll be around Sunday night so posting some pics from last night. PPP @ Day 61. Was checking the trichs last night and it can still go a few days. It's still drinking well, just giving it water now until she finishes up. Close but no ambers to speak of other than a couple on some lower buds. Thinking Monday or so to pull this one. Buds are fat & dense, should be a good one :)

JTR is just about dry, 98g with stalks still on and hasn't moved from that number for 36 hours, the smaller stems are snapping but the larger one's can use another day or so. Will de-bud/trim/weigh sometime this weekend :)

Well, going to be away most of the weekend and this is dry enough to begin curing so did a quick de-bud/trim/weigh of JTR. Will throw a Boveda pack in while I'm away to control the RH. Will loose some weight in curing but minimal and I just weigh dry vs. cured anyhow, otherwise I have to keep track of any spoilers I try ;)

Very pleased, weight was right in the range I expected from this relatively small plant. This means I should expect 3-3.5 oz from PPP. Considering both were relatively small/short for what I will normally run, I'm very pleased indeed :)

I did the same thing last round, dry weight before curing so this is a valid comparison. Everyone has their own methods, I use everything but the stalks/leaves so I weigh everything, but separate it. I don't worry about manicuring too close, same method as last round, most of this is personal and particularly with JTR, the sugar is coated in resin. Remember, the only difference between this round and last were the lights and 5 Gal vs. 3 Gal pots (no significant factor for this size plant imo). Also keep in mind that this JTR was a clone from the plant last round, and a little smaller in mass going into flowering:

Last round with the LG/Top LED's:
Oil bin larf/popcorn/sugar-trim (3 plants): 20.3
Regular bud (3 plants): 58g
JTR Weight usable bud: 22.5g
Total Weight (3 plants): 58g + 20.3g = 78.3g

This round with the Elite Agro/Sun System:
Oil bin lard/popcorn/sugar-trim (1 plant): 12.4g
Regular bud (1 plant): 60.4g
JTR Weight usable bud: 60.4g
Total Weight (1 plant): 72.6g

I'm expecting 90-100g from the PPP which would put this more than 2 times the weight, from 2 plants vs. 3. JTR's weight compared to last round is just shy of 3x the weight :bigjoint:

Will pull PPP sometime this week, likely Monday or Tuesday so should have some numbers on it by end of next weekend.

This LEC Sun System is staying put...

Hi all, back from the long, long weekend ;) Update on PPP @ Day 65. It's pretty well finished, not doing much now other than maturing the trichs. It looks done, going to check and pull it in the next coupe of days. Will post an update when I move it into the dark.

Some Day 65 bud porn:

Had another look last night, not doing anything and it looks ready, into the dungeon she goes @ Day 66!

Will keep PPP in the dark until Thursday night and chop, chop :) Should be a good haul from this one, thinking 90-100g's dry :)

Some final pics of PPP before going into the dark period, buds are nice & tight :)

A sneak peak camshot at the next round, 3x PPP and 1x JTR. Staked them up with the trellises at Day 0 12/12 last night. They were 28-30" tall, down to about 24" - 26" canopy once they were tied down. They're pre-stretched at 14/10 for 9 days so they shouldn't stretch much now, they'll just spread out a bit and shoot those colas back towards the light. Taking 32" x 34" footprint, should be able to keep them close to 36x36" with the trellises. Lots of colas/bud sites to come in the next week or two :)

Since the first run was just a teaser will likely just keep this thread running for this full round. Will post a full detailed update on the weekend...

Cheers :bigjoint:

Hey groerr awesome job your doing there bro I'm really convinced on getting one of these lights but the dpapillon 315 w version I'm currently running 2 x sgs 160's from Area 51 do you rekn these 315w lights would blow them out the water ? It's either the 315w lec or a 600w phillips green power with a lumatek pro ballast. Any info yourself or anybody else is greTly appreciated

Peace peeps and have a great wkd

Hi mx, thanks. I've seen some nice grows in here with those xgs panels. I'd say 2x 160's would be about the equivalent, likely close in heat output as well. Not sure how far the xgs's can stretch in coverage since I haven't used them. For reference, these cover a 3x3 well and expect them to pull about 12-14 oz with the strains I have going if I don't f'up, not sure how much you've pulled from the xgs's. Cost-wise of course, one of these is about 1/2 the cost of 2x A51's pulling 300w at the wall, even going with the LEC Sun System kit. Over the 600w hps I'd say about the same pull in weight but you're not having to deal with the extra heat generated by the hps, you could run 2 of these 315's vs. 600 hps and generate about the same amount of heat, but 2x 315's would definitely out-produce 1x 600 hps. My son runs 1000's and 600's so I have a good reference against hps. The reasons I went with these vs. higher end LED's was, cost + I can only run a certain amount of watts in the room I have so wanted the most efficient I could find. Dollar for dollar and considering efficiency/spectrum, these allowed me to run 2 of these or 1 + some DIY COB LED's in that space and not break the bank. Cheers.

Chop, chop time :)

Gave PPP the chop after about 72 hours of dark. Smelling good, nice and sticky, very piney smell. Huge weight in those buds, much heavier than the JTR plant

Hung it to dry, should be ready next weekend sometime to do a final trim and weigh...
PPP-Harvest-1.JPG PPP-Harvest-2.jpg PPP-Harvest-3.jpg PPP-Harvest-4.jpg PPP-Harvest-5.jpg

The new round is shaping up nicely, colas are starting to shoot up and take shape. Will be a few heads on these, FIM'd them at least 3 times each, LST'd throughout veg and super-cropped some branches on each...

Hi all, nothing new to report on PPP, time to watch paint dry for a few days ;)

In the meantime, I'll be posting updates here for the next run. Same medium, feed, 5 gal fabric pots, temps, humidity etc. as the first run, just filling a 3 x 3' this round

Sunday was Day 5 of 12/12. I stretched the plants under the LED's for 12 days @14/10, same as last time, other than a couple of days extra. They went into 12/12 ready to flower and have already popped some small flowers. I moved everything into the centre of the room to take advantage of the reflective walls. Tight but can still move around them as needed.

Environment:
Will try and keep the same temp and humidity ranges as last round as they did well. Hasn't been a problem keeping this room dialled in, liking the control over the environment.
Temps: Lights On: 80-84F Lights off: 70-74F
Humidity: Lights On: 45-50% Lights Off: 50-55%

Strains:
3x Pure Power Plant, clones from the PPP hanging to dry right now
1x Jack The Ripper, clone from the JTR I pulled about 2 weeks ago (top-left in pics)
I have a bunch of new strains coming up and about 6 DIY crosses I want to run so this will be the last run for this PPP for a while I think. Looks and smells great, very pleased with the yield from it. Should have a good stash of it if this round goes well.

Light:
Will be running the light 16-18" above the canopy. As mentioned in the first run, got some burn and bleaching running it at 12-14". This gains some coverage and has no problem covering the 3x3' imo, should do well. It's sitting at 18-20" right now, the tops are pushing up towards the light, thinking they'll land around 16-18" in the next few days.

Medium/Nutes:
50% Pro-Mix/50% local Triple Mix
5 Gal fabric pots (Root Pouches)
AN Sensi Grow and Sensi Bloom, feeding every other watering @500-600 ppm, going to back off to around 500 and see how PPP behaves, it got some burn first time around, will adjust as needed.

Really liking this 50/50 combo of soil/pro-mix, holds water well, doesn't pack, plants like it, and haven't seen a single bug/fly since I switched to it. The supplemental nutes seem to keep things in balance well.

Grow style:
I'm liking these trellises, going to run them again, they're really handy. Each pot has 2 trellises, they're allowing me to keep the footprint and getting light to all the bud sites by opening the plants up. I likened it to a vertical scrog last round. I'm running the colas through the trellises when I bring them into flowering, they provide support for the larger buds, easy to tie back the tops to fill/keep the canopy even. Liking the flexibility with this setup, have the ability to move each plant around to get even coverage yet still have control over the footprint and canopy like a scrog. I move/cycle them around every 4-5 days to get even light to all the buds. I'm still tying/guiding the tops as they're expanding into the space, they'll settle down by next week.

Enough chatter, some pics of the current state, if I left anything out, feel free to ask...

Congrats on the new addition, you won't be disappointed. That combo should rock it, will be looking forward to seeing some budz under both the LEC and A51's, should be some great pull and frost :)

Awesome pics man. Nice thick buds. Isnt PPP South African genetics ? I was wondering if it isn't some sort of variant of Durban poison ? Reckon the dry weight on this will blow the JTR away.

Hey aprrodisia, hope all's well. Not a lot of info out there on this one but according to the seed finder database, a south african sativa and "US" indica(?) cross. Whatever it is, I do like the bud structure, smell and look of it, dark green with red hairs as it's drying out, haven't dipped into it yet but it's also supposed to be in the 20+ range for THC and pack quite a punch. Def a big yielder, I may come back to this one later, still have 8 seeds in the pack :) As far as weight goes, no clue yet but just from the weight when I cut it down, I'm thinking at least 50% more weight than JTR, should break the 100g mark imo. When I released it from the trellises the larger colas were so heavy they just flopped over and hit the ground  Can't wait to see what comes off these big-boy plants I'm running this round ;)

Hi GroErr, yes all is well just thinking of my next grow. Thinking of running some mr. nice devil. I don't normally grow with regular seeds due to time/space constraints but the devil strain only comes in regular seeds. Heard some very good reviews about it and might be the high Im looking for :bigjoint:.

Sounds good, not far off one of the seedlings I just planted a couple of days ago, one is Super Skunk which is Skunk #1 x some Afghan Indica, looks like similar lineage. Good luck. I like reg seeds but like you say, you need more space until they're sexed...

Yeah man no joke hey the girls are lovin it I rekn she'll be a nice yield too.
Last harvest I had 1 detroit badass and 1 Pineapple Express and yielded just over 8 oz which wasn't too bad first time round with a51s but I think with the d papillon it's gna add some serious weight . I might have to get another 315 w I rekn lol .

What heights do you run your lamp at for veg n flower bro I've got mine round 16
