Besides framework. About $325. I already had one driver
@Enigma
Everything came from rapid led
And they are not a combo. Bought separate. Heat sinks where $19 each
Ah, I ordered COBs complete, I just have to wire it together.

$19 per heatsink, thermal paste?

Pre-tapped threads for holders?

Because I didn't want to. That is the beauty of diy. You can build like you want. Not like everyone else

Just wondering, this is all new to me.

I ordered COBs from Tasty.

After looking over the data sheets, and asking questions, I figured four at 70W (passively) would be overkill for a 3x3.

So, that's my plan.

I'm not slamming you or your setup.

I'm just curious to know, why?

I read and found more questions than answers, I picked some brains and figured I would be set with a certain setup given the parameters I've set for the op.

It's cool that you're doing your own thing, mang.

I had an extra driver and wanted to use it Plus I wanted to experiment a bit. Its why I went 3000k and 5000k with 2 drivers. I can flip the drivers to either string of cobs.run either softer or harder. It's testing and playing around. Growing should be fun and learning.
One driver 700 millamp. Other is 2.1 amp. Big difference in driver current

That's my plan as well.

I ordered the 3000K and 4000K SE, I want to test these and if I like it I'll double it then double it again.

Two 1050 mA drivers with potentiometers, to control the spectrums. I figure I could veg completely and flower with just the turn of a couple of knobs.

That's my plan as well. Only my hlg 240 is dimmable. The smaller driver is not. It will be replaced to just do what you are wanting to do.I have..another hlg 240 c2100b on the way already

The HLG-120H-C1050B is what I ordered.

I'm guessing yours is 2.1 Amp? You're not planning on driving the Vero7 that hard?

Yes. 3 will always be drove at 2.1. Like right now. 3 are at .700ma 3 at 2.1. With another 2.1 amp driver. It would just be more flexible

2.1A.. good lord, they aren't actively cooled?
Passive. Not as much heat as you think. If you have any airflow in your grow area at all there is no issue. I can lay my hand on the heatsink and keep it there as long as I want. Even without air flow there would be no issue of overheating

Fuckn A.

I'm going to look into some larger drivers if this one doesn't push hard enough. I already have the Wagos and potentiometer en route, I'll just plug-n-play.

Again, thanks for the heads up!

I like to see what people are actually doing instead of some edited video and sales pitch.

That's why we are all here. To trade ideas. Build. Test. See what works. Education. Open source. With the advancement of led technology and forums like this.A little self education will take you far. And I'm not stopping with this light build. I have a couple other build ideas in mind.
