Black 5 gal buckets with lid, man. Cut your holes only 1” sized, and make your own collars out of a foam kneeling board.just drill out a small 1/8” hole in the center of each collar, then cut from the outside edge, in to that hole.

The neoprene inserts, which are super cheap, work great (and float).

Not saying you are wrong cause it works.

But its much more convenient and it seals GREAT. When you make a proper sized hole for 2 inch net cups with the net part cut off
And the neoprene inserts are too nice not to buy.

This from a guy who bought kids floor mats and drilled them with a hole saw between peices of ply

Sure it works but not nice.

I agree. It takes very little effort to go that extra step, and make it even that much better.

I found 1/8" dowels at Walmart. 26 cents for 2ft piece. Not bad.

They didn't have any skewers. Not grill season
In the future you could use shishkabob skewers. You can buy bags of like 100+ for a buck or so. If you need them taller overlap them an inch or two and use two zip ties. This is how I stake my tomato seedlings.

I buy my totes from lowes as well but i havent seen the black lids
They are probably working through the yellows
We get everything last up here:)

I actually prefer the lowes totes because the lid has a different top pattern.

But otherwise i think they arw probably made by the same manufacturer

I can take 32 clones with the size of a bucket.

Hi I bought some homemade 2” neoprene collar like 6 years ago and I been trying to make my own.

did you drill them with the drill in reverse?

I tried it the other date and it came out nice. To make neoprene inserts for a 2” net pot you need a 2 1/8” hole saw with a small pilot bit. The ones that I have, the where made by 2” hole saw except the one on the right side was made by a 2 1/8” hole saw.
The 2” collars sinks on the net pot while the 2 1/8” sits flush with the net pot rim. just check my clones pic with blue collar for reference.

On the other note my cloner is leakproof. I use Rubbermaid Brute totes. they are very sturdy, food grade and most important they dont leak. they cost me $25. Here is the part number:
20 Gal Brute FG9S3100GRAY

Happy growing
