LBH's SCrog Tutorial

LBH could I get your opinion on this setup and perhaps some recommendations if you have any? This is my first scrog. I just put the screen in and was thinking of veggging for another 7-14 days before adding more light and switching to flower. Thanks in advance!

Only thing is the fence doesn't give. Its a great idea as for a reusable screen but I like to use string for a number of reasons, biggest being you you can manipulate it, like stick your hand through the screen to clean out the plants, etc.

The layout of the plant itself looks good but is done the traditional style. This particular scrog method in this tutorial is different in that you use specific training in veg to grow a short, wide plant allowing you to get the screen down to 6-8" so that undergrowth that is normally stripped can become useable, viable bud. For traditional scrogging like your plant, I suggest lollipopping it just after the stretch.

Doc- Scrog means screen of green, You got no screen! lol (Plants look good though)

oops schwag. Sorry, missed the question. If you flip today, you will already have to lift the screen a bit, the plant is HUGE,lol. Remember, when you flip it to 12/12, in will double to triple in size. So that will fill the screen immediately and then grow vertically. This is when u lift the scfeen and bring it up tpo whatever height the mains settle at. Check the "enter the scroggers" sticky regarding lollipopping with a standard scrog, this will prob be ur best bet for this run. Next run, check my 4-way lst tutorial and try my version of scrogging for a change of pace. Good luck!!

Thanks boss! Yeah she is huge lol. This wasn't what I had planned for her but she just got out of hand. The strain is PPP, her stretch is minimal so I am hopeful I won't have to move the screen TOO much (wishful thinking). I think I'm going to switch just after a couple more days.

Dude, you need to switch that a feww weeks ago if it's ppp. They grow huge, extremely branchy. I have 2 under a 600 right now, I'll show you a quick vid, flipped at 6" (I know PPP well, lol, Niravana's PPP anyway)

I'm predicting you'll need to raise that screen 2-2.5 feet to get a good canopy of bud up top and you'll definitely want to strip the under stuff, send that energy to the mains. PPP also does much better with some silica in there, strengthen those cell walls, like I said, she's a branchy one. Good Luck!

LOL thanks for the vid dude.... Yeah I'm thinking I better switch tomorrow. I've never had issues with PPP stretching too bad but I've never really been under restrictions as I usually put them in plenty early. Already did a ton of stripping, more to do as well though. My genetics are from marijuana-seeds.nl and the PPP is fucking awesome. Best active stoner smoke I've grown to date, would you agree on the effects? People crave that shit!

Thanks for the heads up on the sillica too, she got a nice feeding last night of a 20/20/20 with cal mag, silica, super thrive and some Thunder (humic acids, clay and silver). Next feeding will include bacterias and her first flower dose. I will use the silica throughout per your recommendation too, I really want to baby her and see how I can make her produce. So far she loves the tent.

Sounds like a real good pllan. I like to go light too and only use it (silica) once they are established in veg for a feed or 2 and then again during the stretch when theyre building wood

This pig is established, that's for sure! I think she will handle whatever food I throw at her and ask for more lol. Please join along, thread is in my sig, would love your opinions and comments as the grow moves forward.

Looks good bro but make sure you don't start counting your flowering days yet. Those are 5 days from "the switch" or "being flipped", not 5 days flowering. You don't start counting your flowering days till the plant starts actually flowering and building nice little pistil clusters, that's when you start counting. It's roughly 10-14 days or so from the switch. This is where many newer folks get tripped up and pull too early ;)

iv read elsewhere thats a personal thing.. some count from switch others count from pistols.. my last run of jillybean i cut down at 56 days from flip of 12/12 and trichs were where they needed to be for my liking, mostly cloudy with a hint of amber. if i was going by what your saying then thats a 6 week strain.... soooo yea... ill keep count my way:blsmoke:
thanx for your input tho, of course

You'll harvest by trich color regardless but when the breeder tries to give you a run time, they are NOT including the transitional phase, trust me on that one.

You are absolutely right though, if someone wants to count the stretch and pull em too early,...that's entirely a personal thing. :D I pull on the early side as well, 10-20% amber which will mature to about 30-40% by the end of the cure. Another tip for checking if they are ready is to pull a sample leaf about 2 weeks into flower (not counting stretch) and scope it. You can find a few false amber can show up a few weeks in and it's good to know this so you don't count these when you go to look again around week 7 or 8.

aaaaaha... nice. ill do that this go round:hump:

yes i agree with the amber percent, as they cure it progresses, almost doubles the amount of amber with a couple weeks cure... i mean thats what i found with jilly bean... my 1st real grow that im looking and paying attention to all these factors thoroughly so yea... ill take your word for it im just glad im on the right path with all the info and MISinfo on the net its tough to pick out who is right or wrong. i say hands on bitches! trial and error for yourself fuckas! lol... im so much more calmer when i smoke... wheres my blunt...:bigjoint:

LBH / Matatan - Good info. LB, used your method on current Scrog (PE & DinaFem), after topping. Will be using it for future Scrogs as well. Able to get screen low and tight.

Mat - Got a write up or some pics on your Jilly Bean grow. I have some on the way. I've heard good things about TGA (Subcool's) gear. Jilly Bean intrigues me as I'm not much for couple couch lock. Thinking about a 12/12 from seed on that one.

Damn... Sweet offer. Fawk brah, I'm MANY thousands of miles away. Thanks for the offer.

So, if you have some of Sub's gear going, I take it that's a Thumbs Up for his gear?
