Latest LED ebay deals

I noticed ebay LED lights sellers competition on ebay is heating up, prices are coming down, lately you can buy 1 Watt of LED lights for $ .30 to .50 as opposed to a dollar per watt or more just few months ago.

Example, there is bunch of 300W Leds selling around $100 all the way to 1200W selling for around $400.

Also several Chinese seller ships from US, making it easier and safer for buyers to buy LED lights.

Mars, Mars2 and few other brands are selling like hot cakes. Anybody took a plunge lately?

What did you buy, why and how happy, or not are you with your latest purchase?

Nice Pics too, but rare to get any light(LED) that actually sucks the wattage thats indicated, 500w on the lamp implies that its an extra 50w or so for the fans, the ballast or even its just a down rite lie!

Last year about this time I bought a lamp on ebay from LEDGROWLIGHTMANUFACTURER. I paid $500 for a lamp that draws 500w. I think it works great. I am a complete beginner and my first grow was dank matter. Ive made improvements with each new try. It has worked without any issued for this past year.

Platinum led is making a lamp that they say uses way less watts but puts out way more PAR. Something like a 400W Platinum LED is the PAR peer of a 1000w HPS. Somebody will be testing out those claims soon enough.

Vos isn't there an efficiency problem with the 5w? I thought because they can only be driven so hard and because they require more distance for effectiveness that the jury is out on 5 baggers? Just some stuff i read here on the internot.

Platinum is probably full of mierda caballo. You would have to have breakneck efficiency.

Each week, things drop, especially because all of the 2015 fiscal year gear is about to drop. I saw the "300w" lights for $89 shipped about 3 weeks ago, so they will only get cheaper.

I am waiting for the bottom to fall out, so I can cherry pick for drivers, heatsinks, switches, wiring and maybe the case? Then I can put the Cree cxa's and Vero's into it, for the about the same cost and 2x the power.

For those who won't build [ever play with Lego's?] you are doomed to pay the price for going for "cheaper" LED's, although that is never usually the case. Build the shit, 40 different guides it seems on this forum alone and its not fucking rocket science [end rant]

@rob333 The only thing I agree with you about, is that Chinese led's are usually garbage, although we get there from different conclusions.

bro Chinese leds are not usually garbage. how could you be in a position to make a sweeping statement like that. How the fuck do you gas bag about products that youve never even seen let alone tested.

STFU unless you have some comparison grows to substantiate that nonsense.

They are all over the web...plus Chinese LEDs wear out quickly...all of this is on the great search engine known as Google. Also, you will not see bad talk about TopLED because it voids their warranty;-):spew::roll:

I was growing under HID for years, but I see there is more and more growers trying LED's and most are happy with new technology after it greatly improved over time, so I am going to try LED's now whether you non sayers and bashers like it or not.
I did not ask in this thread any opinions about HID lights, so if you do not like LED's
STFU and go to HID threads with your unwanted, unproductive, irrevelant and downright stupid posts.

I run both hps and led though most of my leds are diy Chinese in origin. I like the results from either but I started growing with hps and glad I did as I learnt a lot about environmental management. You will need around 2/3 the wattage of a hps for similar yields and keep the panel close. Heat won't be as bad but if you think you can cut back on ventilation forget it. Maybe AC if your in a hot area can be reduced or eliminated. I use the heat from either source to warm the room in winter. I also run 600 watts of led in flower but have only just upped the power to that so no comparison to the hps yet with equal power.
Guess I smoked a bit early today lol.

im just gonna put the fzct out there that 98% of all led lights on the market today originate from china and are rebranded by a U.s. or U.K. hydroponics distrubitor.. just sayin most of the lights we all use say MADE IN CHINA right on the inside of the case on the ballast n even the heatsinks...

i like apollo tho im running a singe 300w multiband n its consuming 280w draw tested it my self with multi-meter, on 3 plants doin well gonna add 2 400w lights so i can start a perpetual grow cycle u digs...

If you had knowledge, you would understand you are ignorant. The petty insults and tone of your posts suggests you are of teen-age years, or at that maturity level regardless of physical age.

Tho Testiclees replies are brash and a little jack nutty, he/she does make a point re: chinese LED. Not all cheap chinese LED are garbage...some do actually grow good flower! Yes, they may be inefficient and poorly assembled, compared to top LED makers, but they're still able to produce, and would make a good light for someone just getting into LED, especially at these ridiculous prices.
