ive got some small young plants growing outside (southeast us). they are only a few months old and about a foot or so tall, grown from bagseed. i know this is the time of year when flowering begins and i want to know if my plants are mature enough to begin flowering before its too late in the season.

Just check the new growth nodes of the plant along the main stem. If they are alternating, they are sexually mature and will begin flowering on time:

[ignore the '.' - just needed to preserve format]

If the nodes are putting out symmetrical growth, it is still pre-mature and won't start flowering yet:

I think most plants will become sexually mature after about a month...

So if your plants are a few months old they will be fine for going into flowering. You got a little bit of a late start but not really.

12" high and several months old seems a bit slow growing to me though (even for outdoors)... did you amend the soil they are grown in and have you been using any sort of nutrients?

^ yea they didnt start in the best growing conditions. after about the first month i got them in the ground with good soil and sunshine and they began to gow better. i used a little fish emulsion for nutes. they do have the asymetrical growth so i guess im good. i wont get big buds but i got a bunch of these little guys peppered deep in the woods. its a bitch to get back there but maybe ill get some pics when i check em next time.

Yeah man - get some pics. Love to see how other guerrilla growers work with the great outdoors.

Oh and I sleep better at night when I have a bunch that are spread around like you do (yay for GPSs). Sucks when they need attention but almost guarantees getting something at the end of the season though.
