Hey all, since my current grow hasn't really been getting any company, probably because the lame thread name I chose, I figured I'd start another 8-) I've started a indoor RDWC SCROG grow in 2 gallon buckets with Larry OG and Agent Orange clones that I've taken from my mother plants. WIll be using a 5x5 grow tent, 1000w hps and a modified lucas formula using GH nutes.

Here's the gear:

Equipment:

-430cfm Intake fan

-6x24 Charcoal filter

-6" air cooled hood

-1000w hortilux eye HPS

-Active Aqua Flow Grow RDWC

-x6 2gallon pots filled with hydroton

-7gallon controller

-32 gallon reservoir

-General Hydroponics Flora Series

-Using Lucas Formula with KoolBloom, Rapid Root and Floralicious Plus

-pH up & pH down solutions (If needed)

-Air pump and air curtain in 32gallon reservoir for aeration

-Hanna Instruments GroCheck Combo pH/PPM meter

-5x5 diamond mylar grow tent

-x2 6" Oscillating clip fans

-x2 32watt florescent t8 shop light for cuttings

-x20 site bubble cloner for cuttings

-Digital thermometer hygrometer (indoor/outdoor)

-Manual Light Timer

The Clones I will be using:

-x5 LARRY OG clones and x1 Agent Orange clone

-x1 Larry OG Mother and x1 Agent Orange in organic soil

If you wanna see what I've already posted in my other thread, check the link in my sig :) I'm hoping to get a few more followers on this thread because it's pretty boring posting updates when no one sees it :-| lol

Ebb system has been hooked up, had some minor spillage on the test run but not too bad luckily. Everything is dialed in, nutes added as 100ml Micro and 200ml Bloom. 5tsp of calmag and ph down. Nutes are at 940ppm and pH is 5.8 - Also got the grow room all cleaned up and organized. Will be putting clones in the buckets today. :bigjoint:

Transplanting is complete. Kicked on the 1000 watt hps (hope it doesn't shock the clones from only being under 64 watt floros). Will be flooding every couple hours for the first couple days and possibly top feeding until I see new growth.

Feel free to comment or make suggestions :)

Sounds like a sweet set up man. Im wanting to run a scrog in my 4×4 flower room sometime. But I do soil grows. Maybe I will give hydro a shot one day. I like the strains you have going. Not had them but they are both intresting to me. Im glad u put this thread up man.

Thanks redbear, this will be my first planned scrog myself, but I've had to incorporate scrogging before unexpectedly Lol. Hydro is definitely fun to use, give it a try sometime, I'd recommend doing a bubble bucket for a first time hydro experiment, its really easy and the results are bad ass. I've only smoked the Larry og once and it blew me away but I've never tried the agent orange. Can't freaking wait to try em when they're done :blsmoke:

Alright, ive already made my first scrog rookie mistake. RULE NUMBER ONE - ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH ROOM AND ACCESS TO THE PLANTS TO TRAIN THEM!! I'm not a scrog pro, so I didn't think about it and the right side of my tent is against a wall.. Therefore I can't use the damn zippered window, and on the other side of the tent my water res and controller is blocking the window Lol. Smh. Luckily I figured this out now and can fix it. So, tomorrow's project will be sliding the tent 2 and 1/2 feet to the left. Thank god I caught it this in time. Phew

I got the tent moved and all set up properly now. Clones have been in for about 24 hours and looking OK. Temps in the tent is 82 degrees. Ppm @ 960. pH @ 5.9 --- flooding and draining for 15 minutes every 1.5 hours with lights on and every 3 hours with lights off. On a 18/6 light schedule. Will adjust flood intervals when needed.

Sounds like she's coming along nicely. I hear great things about TGA gear. And that Agent Orange has always been on top my tga wishlist. And a good kush is like Jello, there's always room for more:p
I have a few tahoe going. One of my favorites.

Redbear -For sure tga is great! Never had any problems with their stuff and always has been top notch. Their plushberry is highly recommended. And I love the kushes the most, kush never disappoints!

Subbed..... met Agent Orange on my honeymoon. SUPER happy times... really, not like a giggles or uncontrollable laughter type of feel; true uplift in happiness (at least what we shared)!

On a side note - how the hell do I give rep on this site now? I haven't been a daily reader in years and cannot figure out the new layout. Cannot PM or give rep due to my own stupidity and just figured out how to sub again...doh! I don't often post in public forums and cannot figure out PMs for the life of me.

That's awesome! I can't wait to try it out, everyone has been saying that agent orange is so memorable, its making me already anxious for harvest Lol

On a side note, my clones aren't taking too well since I put them in the buckets, not sure really what's wrong with them, but I dropped the ppm down to 760. Maybe I started the ppms a little too high, there doesn't appear to be too much Nute burn but the leaves just don't look right. I've never had too many problems in hydro, especially in veg so this has me scratching my head... Hope the ppm drop helps. Will be waiting for new growth and crossing my fingers for the best. It seems to only be happening with the Larry og, if they dont start perking up I have some more rooted agent orange clones ready to go and replace them.

My only thoughts that could be the problem is heat stress, light stress or too many nutes. I raised the light about 6". The light is about 3' above the plants though, so I don't know Lol. Temps are 83 degrees in the tent and res temps are 68

Try to keep nutes lower at first.

Good luck and thanks for sharing.....

thanks, i will, i dropped it even more down to 640 ppm and i'm doing a small flush now, i usually start at about 900 ppm after the clones are nice and rooted, but I usually use a different nute mix, so it might take a little time getting used to the general hydroponics nutes. Also this is a brand new tent, I've heard of tents that "off gas" and it's bad for plants, I hope that's not the case! I'm gonna take care of all the variables one by one and get everything under control soon I hope, the plants aren't crispy or anything but they definitley don't look the best, grrrrr

I was told the 500-550 range if your water is inert. If you're forced to use some type of "regular" water (meaning 100-200ppm without any food), 650 tops, at least to start with. I know it's hard to follow ANY nute schedule and adhere to this advice ..... just dial back the suggested serving. Once your ladies are thriving and not surviving, VERY SLOWLY notch up the diet.

I've heard the same of tents but never experienced it myself. I've owned 5 different brands. I did, however, experience a tent that I assumed would ventilate as well as the other of similar square footage. The design of it must have made the air circulate differently, because I had to upgrade the fan size (approx 20% more output).

Surely some nute guru can chime in should deficiencies start to occur?

Also, I'm sure you flushed the hydroton thoroughly?

Don't forget to double check the obvious once most things seem right, you seem to be on the right track. Maybe someone experienced with AO can chime in....fingers crossed. Good vibes to you and the ladies!

Thanks smoke a lot - I rinsed out the hydroton fairly well but there is a little bit of residue still but not too bad, I do use 220ppm tap water but its not too bad, I wish I had the funds at the moment for an RO filter though for sure! And tents are always tricky, I prefer not to use them but they do a great job keeping things contained, but I'm always battling heat issues when I use them.

I think I got everything under control for now, the reduced nutes and a small flush seemed to help alot, 4-6 plants in the hydro buckets are looking better, but 2 of the Larry OG's I pulled out and replaced with 2 agent orange because they seemed to be trailing behind the others and the new agent orange clones look killer. So the back row of 3 is now agent oranges and the front row is Larry og, and I have one of each in soil pots. I figure it'll be easier having rows of the same strain for a scrog anyway. Plus all the agent orange hype has me excited now Lol.
