kratom

anyone ever try this stuff for opiate addiction or just in plain general try it?

My buddy has some growing, it's alright. He never tried it for addiction before.

It is used as an opium/methadone substatute, but works more like LSD, Mescaline, etc on your brain. Not like an opiate!

Yeah Kratom is legit! I broke my neck over a year ago and still sometimes have pains because of it.. I generally just bust out 8-10 grams an eat it... Eating it is def the hardest part lol..

Allthough it has opiate like action, it is not an opiate as such, it is usefull in addiction treating as it binds to the receptors opium would use, reducing the receptivity to opiates. I.e. the keyhole is blocked.

Kratom is alright if you have a low tolerance to opioids. If you have more than that it won't touch you. It's pretty cool chemically, being a tryptamine opioid agonist. Playing around making analogs of mitragynine would be really interesting.

Yeah ive always thought it would be fun to figure out how to extract the active alkaloids so you dont have to eat as much at a time..

Methanol is supposed to be an excellent solvent for extracting alkaloids from Kratom. Just make sure you let it dry really well. If you want to purify the extract you'd need to use cromatography.

my g/f loves it, and it takes my slight withdrawls away that I get from opium use when im not using it

I just downed some caps a little while ago. I really love kratom. I use it every 5 days or so. Luckily, I haven't experienced any ill effects yet, but I did notice that my mind isn't as sharp the next day. I suppose I should expect that, considering an oxy would have me feeling dumb as hell for a whole day.


Someone posted how to make kratom extract, and included a final step that allows it to cross the blood brain barrier more quickly. I might try an extraction for the fun of it, but then I won't be able to encapsulate the product, meaning I would have to taste it when ingesting, which is not something that I look forward too...

cant they hybrid these trees making super potent strains?


that would be a good quest to try to do. medical grade kratom

I haven't personally smoked it, only ingested, let me know how that works for ya.

I enjoy Kratom, ordered from iamshaman.com got to me in a decent amount of time (sooner then promised) i also used capsules, taste is quite bitter and strong. I like it, will get some again or possibly grow it.
