KingLED x5 - 1500w led?

I was planning on building my own COB LED light, at some point, but I saw some.units from KingLED that look promising.

Is anyone using these? What's the coverage? Is this adequate for a 4 x 4 tent? If this sucks, are there any others that would be as good and cheap as building my own?

Well ive not used one but can safely say since its a 265w light that it wont be enough to flower a 4x4 area, since its not likely to come close in efficiency to a QB kit which at 265w covers a 2x4 or 3x3.

I'm sure some folks get sick of hearing it and I get sick of saying it but why not spend to extra $100 and get a quantum board kit and work with a 3x3 canopy in your 4x4 tent till you harvest or can afford the second kit to fill out your space?

I'm with corey-since the only spec we have is power consumed but no info on light output I'd rate this no better than any blurple light. Unless you are in a position that this is what you can afford at the time, I'd either wait until I could invest a few more $ for a far better lamp or just stick with HID.

Yeah, I'll just build the cob array I had originally planned, which is 12 x Cree 1050's (6/side). I can build one and use my hid for the other side of the tent, until I can afford to build the second cob array.

Thx!

I think you are going to need two of those babies for a 4x4 tent their foot print is very small. While the unit has a high PAR value the light power will fall off from the center of the light quickly.

I would test your light by growing 4 plants directly below it and see how they do. You'll know how much more plants you can fit in once you see the results of the first grow.
