I've just received an order paid on Oct 16. Like a child on Christmas I went through the wrappings only to find out that Jerry sent me 7 3590s instead of 8. Hope he'll man up and solve it.
Oh man sorry to hear that.
Thats a long wait to be short a cob...
I hope this gets straightened out for ya!

Wow. Within 90 minutes after I had complained I was provided with a DHL tracking number already en route to my address. Hope I won't have to pay customs, VAT and DHL fee now.
I have had 24x CXB3590 24x Ideal holders and 3x drivers from Jerry and paid thus far £16 for import duty on all of it. I received 8 COBs yesterday without any duty. I think one COB should sail through customs no problem. Though in the EU you never really know when the tax man cometh.

Cheers,
Will

I hope so.
The other COBs were shipped by PostNL and went through customs w/o problems. But these DHL guys charge $20 for dealing with the customs and I don't see them giving it up.

Yah, DHL charged me the first time. Jerry used TNT on my last order with no customs. One COB I would hope think will be fine. Fingers crossed for you all the same.
Ben je nederlands? I lived there for 5 years in the late 90's to early 2000's. Leiden, Tilburg, Den Haag and finally settled in Alkmaar.

Props to Jerry for getting my chips to me, fast. There was some issue of receiving/associating my payment with me, but it was resolved. I had payed for cn post. The chips + holders were shipped out DHL, and should show tom.

I did have concerns when the $$$ had been removed from my account, and Jerry hadn't seen a payment from me for a week. But, it seems things will work out. :)

Will consider for future builds! Specially since it looks like he'll have some MW HLG-240G-C series in early Dec.

That 240 driver seems to be the perfect for putting a cob in the middle of four cobs in a small scrog. Should the extra voltage start to make me concerned? Also, do you have some good tip on how ground the unit? - I know google can help me there, it is only if you have some really tasty and facilitating pointers :)

I like the 5x 3590 @ 1.4A idea.. maybe a 5000k for the center to help manage stretch and provide some good lm?

I also like the 4x @ 1.75A CXB3590/3070 option for ~250w (if I'm understanding/mathing it correctly). To maybe get a bit more coverage/PPFD from fewer chips in a 4x4, 8 chip configuration?

Why would you want to run them that hard? You know you lose efficiency and the more heat they will produce.

My appologies i was not correct in my previous post.
Turns out Jerry is making his own version of reflector for $3. Additional RIU discount.
It will be similar to ledil reflector and will work with same reflector adaptor.

I am curious if Jerry's bootleg reflector will work as efficient as expensive original ledil. Reflectivity and lights distribution can be tested.I told Jerry that I will compare his reflector with original ledil in PPF chart

Wow no increase on perimeter without lens or reflector...
I thought there would be an increase in center but decrease on perimeter with lens or reflector.

I personally think Jerry is a good salesman. He has found a niche market and is doing his best to supply products that sell themselves. I have had no problems with any orders I have placed and his communication has been brilliant.
I think this community has been buttering his bread quite nicely and he knows it. I am sure he is aware that any misstep would have a negative effect on a lucrative market that is growing everyday.
Dealing with companies abroad is always ropey and there are risks in any financial transaction. Thus far Jerry has proven to me he wants to provide products we want. If the man earns his corn in the process I am happy with that.

Cheers,
Will

I am sure his company makes more and more money every month!
I hope some of are for him...I don't know how chinese company works?!?
I guess when you are a good person you run a good company...do you often get a newsletter where the owner said he is happy to be a friend of us (and I am sure he didn't say that to sell more products! )
He's simply a nice guy!
Have a great day ★
