Killer cloner!

Well, I’m testing the cloner out today. Some of The cuts are a little smaller than what I like to start with, but I couldn’t wait any longer to test this thing out. I will keep you guys updated on how they do. There is about 10 gal of adjusted r/o water in the reservoir: ph= 5.8 ec= 0.4. Ingredients that went into the water are calmag, rapid start, and a little bit of GH flora bloom. This has always proved to be a good mixture for cloning for me
Looks good :)

Thanks again for all the tips. I kinda figured I was going to receive messages about how I didn’t need to add all that stuff to my water,...that plain water works just fine. I’m very very much disagree. Your water could be and probably is completely different from my water. My water goes through a water softener,.I’m not using it on my plants, just my skin ha. Like with everything with growing, everyone has their own way of doing things. I’ve only lost probably a few clone out of hundred or so. I’m sure some tap water works and reaps great results, but why fix what’s not broken

Hope your areocloner is a success!
@Hydrowannabe
I was infatuated over aero cloners for like 2 weeks before building one. Didn't really like it during test running
¼ tubbing and 7 T nozzle sprayers but the hose would always swell and lose connection. Even had to swap out a cpl nozzles. I said fk it and made a bubble cloner. For some reason i personally like it better. And hey I got one to root outta 4 lmao. Cost me lil less than 20 bucks cuz of the pump but the parts were all about a buck a piece. This is this "make sure it works" stage.
Made adjustments since then as in flow of water and and what not, I have it to perfection now :)View attachment 4094271
I have 3 pumps at home the small one in there, a 185, and a 1000gph for spares. I wana build like a huge aqua table some day. That would be the shyt
As of now I have neoprene collars instead of using sponges. Too saturated! But thinking of doing hour on 2 off cycle
Thank thanks. Yea a lot of people say that bubble cloners work better and obviously are cheaper and easier to make and plain simple alol around. If this aero cloner doesn’t impress me, I’m going to make a bubble cloner. My prefer “go to” method is the dip it in gel and then in rockwool. Never failed me,..just got curious. Seems these cloning machines are all the rage right now for good reason

so far so good, they are sticking straight up, which tells me they like their new home so far. The clones gel did come right off

Those cuttings aren't small at all. You might even cut a few of the fan blades on each.

You don't need a lot of what you are using in your water. With clones, you do not need the following:
  • Balanced water
  • RO, distilled, or purified water (use plain tap water), unless really chlorinated, or hard
  • CalMag, Grow, or Bloom. Your plants won't be using nutrients from the water. They use the stored energy in the leaves, to root.
  • Bright light
Though not necessary, rooting hormones, like Clonex, can help speed up rooting a bit.
Not trying to argue with you, but where did you get your info. I know for a fact that they use phosphorus to root which is why I use a bloom nute. I don’t like when the cutting starts sucking it’s own life to root (turning yellow)...I don’t think it really effects its growth overall, but I’m just a little ocd in that way. The cutting also absorb water through the leaves, aka foliar feeding. So I’m not sure what you mean by they don’t get their nutrients from the water

My friend is gifting me some clones tonight, he cuts dips and into a rapid rooter. Prop tray style. My one clone that did survive I don't think it's guna make it in the soil smh. It has established it's roots from checking on it. . Hooing for the best. It's my first time cloning.
I use root tech gel for cloning. And 3 drops of tiger bloom

Hes not wrong, you dont need anything but tap water.

You are not wrong either confusing ?

I've heard just strait water b4 roots show not even pH?? I've heard the same thing u just mentioned about P for rooting. As why I used a lil bit of bloom nutes for what is a half a gal for my Rez.
I PhD my water Everytime tho. 5.8-6.0

Even seen people clone with water temps in the 80s and having great success. ?? It's like sooooooo which one is it. Lol

Nutrients in the cloners is a more advanced technique.

Not saying you cant cause i do on occasion.

But it does invite more chances of failure if not monitored correctly.

Neither of you are wrong :)

Whatever you do, don’t give up trying to clone. I garauntee within a few more attempts you’ll be at 90% or better. Rooting is easy. Like the guy above me said, a lot of people get by simply using tap water. It’s really just about mojo. Lol. No idk, but you will get it. Rooting is very simple

Warmer temps does increase plant metabolisim

It also makes a welcoming environment for slime

But its a fine line between the 2.

Also as temps rise DO lvls fall to add to the confusion :)

That’s weird, sounds like the info you’ve given so far is correct imo. Make sure your humidity is up to par (80-100 % I think for rooting). Maybe cut back on your nutes and just try plain water, but I think you always need to ph, especially when cloning. But again, this is all in my opinion

I put a dome on for the first cpl days,
But I figured to run less humidity on top to drain the stored nutes from the leaves and starve her, to help produce root growth to start taking in diluted nutes

Your making me want to go back to the dip-n-grow traditional way hah
No way man i just had to try a run with rockwool
Cause i never have before .

Took me right down to noob status lol
They looked like shit but to my credit 100%survival :)
I sure as shit will only clone either by aero or bubbler for life lol:)

But i have great luck just snipping a cut and jabbing it in a rockwool block before so i dunno lol

The one that actually started to root happened more up in the sponge than on the exposed stem itself. Now it's the transitioning part of it I'm trying too. *I went out and got actual 2 inch neoprene collars this time lol

Nah ive done it with water outa the well 180 ppm ph 7.5

Clones like seeds dont need much :)
