Kids Around Marijuana

It's dangerous if your kids know, but it's definitely not wrong imo. They need to know the truth about it from an early age so they get sucked into the hype. Me and my dad totally bonded over the whole experience of it all when I was a teen. There's a definite time and place for it all though, gotta be smart about it!

Never smoke or deal around kids, but I hope that's a given. =)

i think younger children like under 5 are ok in the garden with you not while your work but just looking and talking/showing/teaching any older they talk way to much, toking were any child is inhaling any type of smoke is totaly cause for a broken jaw in my book and im more thn happy to help with that. I mean for reals if this is our meds would we break a piece of vicodin off and give it to your child wait some of you dont answer that, i am 110% in support of MJ for those how need it and some that dont if used responibly. but turning your kids into a pothead because thats all yull ever be is a bit retarted.

I know its an old thread but looks like lots of people grow their own with kids in the house. But what are the legal consiquences of that?

They may take your kids. But if you get busted with drugs and kids its a no-no too. You cant win for losing basically!!

Yeah, depending on how they see it they can. I havent heard anyone say that has happened, so I could be wrong. But thats about the worst that can happen so I would think its possible.

Does the same apply for lets say a pound of dried bud in the home? no plants?

Kids knowing about a grow is way bad IMO. I may have my views about the validity of marijuana laws, but the kids have to live within the society they are part of. Unfortunately society today frowns on pot, even in the medical states. Why put the burden of needing to keep a secret that could impact their parents’ freedom on their shoulders? If it didn't have the societal stigma that it has then it would be a great parent child thing to do, but that isn't how it is right now. Adults can be the activist, back you should bring your kids into that just because you think "screw the government". I have plenty of less controversial activities I can share with the kid.

maybe, depends again on how they see it, or who sees it. obviously dont quote me on this. there are websites which will give you statistics on stuff like this to give you piece of mind. But if you think about it, your more likely to get caught driving to a dealers picking it up and coming home with it, as long as you dont break the #1 rule, KEEP IT SECRET!!

this is good topic....I was encouraged to grow cannabis by my mom....God bless her soul....i was caught smoke the leaves from my mom s garden...some kind of herb that you can pick it off and rolled up a joint to smoke...I thought its cool to smoke cigarette when i was 11 years old...so my mom was hell bent on me...then i got caught again this time smoke stress weed with my friend at my backyard...of course you can say my mom was gone crazy...we had a big agrument about it...my mom , her concern is if i caught in debt with dealers...so my friend hooked me up with seeds...from there my mom taught me everything about the water and soils...it was so beautiful....its so naturally i was puzzled all the hype shit with law...so one of my old son, he smoke but not interested to learn grow...and now my tennager daughter kinda into grow now...she can tell which the plants sex...im so proud of her...and i still have baby boy...if he want follow my step , I will be glad to teach him....so i dont have any problem to expose my kids around my grow...i just gave em one rule is dont touch plants period but they can look at it thats cool.

I got 3 kids... 18/15/12... they all know that I'm legal, all of them know of the shed and what is going on in side of it... but none of them have seen inside of it, and all of them know not to talk about it to anyone, because of fears of theft, although I have 4 dogs that wouldn't let anyone near the area. Although it's legal in my state, it's still taking society time to adjust, so I don't promote it, or show it off to them. stay high

Just curious on some of your thought on kids around your grow area.

I know society makes it look bad but is it really bad for kids to see marijuana grow?

Morally is it bad?

Im sure alot of the growers here have kids..How do you feel about this?

Im not asking for personal advice..I watched this movie a few days back and there is a little girl in a family of growers and was curious on some of your thoughts..

Don't worry about growing your bud around children. If it does anything it will make them realize that it's a plant later in life and it will help them stay away from bad things such as PILLLLSSSS. It's not morally wrong, literally all you are doing is Gardening. So if you consider gardening morally wrong then yes, it is :P

Just because it's marijuana doesn't mean it's wrong.

That's a great movie by the way.. Watched it on Netflix :P

OH and by the way...

Your kids will tell their friends about it, if they smoke themselves, and are in Highschool. I knew about all my mates parets' grows... But I also smoked with some of the parents so meh...

As far as morals, you obviously don't believe growing is wrong if you're doing it so that leaves child upbringing as the only way it could be considered wrong.
I think a more apt question is how will this affect the upbringing of the child.
I think normalizing weed (alcohol too if it were illegal) at too young of an age is bad because it is pretty much teaching that you don't have to follow rules in society and to their mind it may normalize other drugs and activities if their inexperienced mind groups it in. I think kids should be taught to be goody two shoes until they are old enough to make decisions for themselves. Decisions to think for themselves, decisions to rebel against what they see as unjust, decisions to conform.
Ever wonder where bad kids come from? Go look at the parents or lack of.

**im not saying you should have kids running around grow-OPs.. NO:).. but then again, that falls on the 'parents'.... the parents <----- ;)
