Uh, the Pubs haven't taken over quite yet. This vote was nothing more than a lifeline they were throwing to Landrieu. It won't work, she's fucking toast.

they finally wised up this time and stopped saying rape.

Sky.

If they have another vote after the first of the year I think it will be much different with 14 dems and 50+ pubs that would be well over the number in just a few weeks. savor the moments.

Why in the fuck is there even any controversy about the pipeline?

Don't tell me it's carbon. That shit is getting refined one way or another.

The pipeline uses much less than the big trucks tanking it to wherever they're sending it now.

Is there any legitimate reason to oppose it?

We have like 4k miles of pipeline already in this country.

The premier of Alberta is really disappointed, but he knows it's going to happen. Nobody happier in Canada about your political situation than the Harptler government.

More like 2.5 million miles of pipeline. It is being opposed for political reasons.

Landrieau is a piece of shit..she might as well be rescumlican.

with everything we COULD have voted on?

not all dems rest on laurels IMHO.

Rachel had this to say last night:

Rachel Maddow tonight was incredibly confused why Senate Democrats decided to hold a vote on the Keystone XL pipeline when it would accomplish nothing other than trying to help one of their own (Mary Landrieu) win her reelection race. And even that didn’t get done, because they came up one vote shy of passing it.

To Maddow, this whole thing didn’t make sense for a number of reasons. First, the incoming GOP-run Senate will be able to pass this no problem anyway, so again, it was literally all to save Landrieu. Secondly, Landrieu was likely to lose anyway. Thirdly, the House version of the bill she pushed was sponsored by her Republican opponent.

“What on earth were they thinking,” Maddow asked incredulously, “spending their time doing this? How is this even, conceivably, by any stretch of the imagination, a constructive use of time by Democrats?”

The Keystone XL vote, she explained, accomplished two things: highlighting something the Republicans want highlighted, and showing that the Democrats can’t get anything done even to save one of their own.

And most frustrating of all for Maddow was that the Democrats will hold a vote on this issue right away, but want to wait a while to hold a vote on confirming Loretta Lynch as the new attorney general. If they’re honestly not worried about Republicans confirming her, Maddow said, “I would love some of what they’re smoking.”

She concluded by saying, “Democrats, you are amazing… You are astonishing. Now roll over and play dead.”

Dems you seriously suck:cuss:

Neither party represents my interests or the interests of a majority of American Citizens.

Now that I've stated the obvious, my next questions aren't;

How do We the People succeed in gaining representation that actually reflects our constituency, needs and interests?

How do we hold Washington and those representatives accountable to US, rather than any worthless Fuck with a fistful of 'campaign contributions'?

The insane reverse Robin Hood of our current tax structure cannot last. How do we change it without a revolution, civil war or serious bloodshed?

America will continue to stagnate and fester until this problem is resolved. The longer it takes, the uglier the backlash it will be.

I'm cool, I can just activate my Canadian citizenship (I was born there, I'm American because my folks are and because I CHOOSE to be), move to Cuba and let this country destroy itself.

But patriotism means more to me than waving a flag when I'm told or making the yearly trek to City Park for fireworks. It means advanced citizenship, where you advocate for change and improvement After election day.

Sure. Yet just as important to America's energy security going forward is the efficient use of natural gas, now so plentifully produced domestically that the excess is being exported. Therefore, why not fund a major national push to upgrade to fuel cell technology, in concert with Keystone approval? The best way to stop such stupid ideas is to make them unprofitable.

Get ready for a lesson on Constitutional law, and watch Obama shove his Agenda right down the GOP's gullet, or is it up the Republicans ass? Can anyone spell Impeachment? Good luck Obama, and this should be one of the most spectacular last 2 years for a President in history.FUCKING AWESOME!
