If memory serves, they called it KLP to differentiate it from the other GSC clones. It was changed to GSC because the name KLP just confused the issue.

We just finished one (at 70 days indoor) and it looks and smells quite dank. A real initial evaluation will be made after it is dry in a week or so. Final verdict will have to wait for the cure.

Like many of the Bubba and OG Kushes around, it looks done from 8 weeks on. The ripeness and complexity of the scent, however, seemed to peak at 70 days. We might try some at the recommended 63 days next time, depending on the current result.

I think it's the highest yielding cookies cutting I've seen.
Our first grow of KLP was a small plant and in no way optimized for yield. A barely dried tester joint is under fire as I write and initial quality seems good enough (high praise for a clone in my world, even if yield was low). :D

How does the KLP quality and yield compare to the MF Cookies, just acquired?

Massively out yields MF cookies. Stronger too. Reasonably close terpene profile.

Thanks for the great info. Sounds as if the MF version comparatively doesn't merit the time and space, both of which are at a premium in our modest grow.

Most cannabis seems pretty mild these days, so the word stronger gets our immediate attention, assuming of course that the quality of effect is sufficiently fine.

Just to clarify, when I said reasonably similar terpene profile I meant it's the same basic cookies flavor. I do think the MF cookies is more stinky. It also gets a little more color.

It is definitely stronger. If that's what you like then I'd do the BB cookies. The original wave of cookies isn't that strong.

Thanks for the clarification. The last clause in my response, "assuming of course that the quality of effect is sufficiently fine", was no doubt a bit reductive. After nearly 50 years of toking, one realizes that the one's preferences aren't as easily codified as one once imagined. Fineness of effect is often ranked first, but taste or particular dankness may seem more important in a specific variety. Let's just say that some canna just hits one's spot, whether fixed or variable.

We rarely get to try club bud and so had little contact with the original wave. Do you believe that the varied types of GSC represent further breeding or similar crosses?

Thanks again for the useful info. :)

Please excuse a short off-topic diversion. Your knowledge of local clones seems pretty comprehensive. Please advise whether this short question need be taken to a separate thread.

Do you know if any of the local club clones of Blue Dream are the original DJ Short Blueberry cross with a Haze (not crossed with a hybrid such as SSH)? We've grown a few BDs over the years and none have gone longer than 60 days. In each case the (similar) quality of effect was unimpressive and not worth a second grow. Inspired by the excellent reputation and not to be daunted by failure, we picked up an SCM BD from HHC at the same time the MF Cookies was acquired. The name of the vendor, Santa Cruz Mountain, might be confused with the origin attributed to the original BD, so another shot in the dark seemed justified. The clone is tall with initially thin-bladed leaves. Might this be the type being sought?

Thanks for your help.

TBH I'm not sure. I've run 3 separate strains all called blue dream, all with the same candy blueberry flavor, all slightly different but very difficult to distinguish unless you've grown them out.

Thanks for the frank response. The "original" BD is supposed to run 10-11+ weeks and have an up-lifting effect. All of the versions we tried would have been well passed peak by even 70 days and none were up. :(

A search shows that you previously recommended Granny Purps in Santa Cruz as a clone source to someone looking for the best BD. Do you still consider them an excellent clone source (for BD or other worthies)?

Things have changed since then. Last time I got clones there nearly all of them weren't what they said they were.

Sorry to hear that. Thanks again for the great info.

Although the odds seem stacked against this SCM BD being any different than our previous clones, we'll give it a whirl anyway.

Perhaps it will be a pleasant surprise like the KLP GSC. ;)
