i have some kc 45 auto seeds and i herd they need to be in a smaller pot to autoflower. i was gonna put them in a bucket with holes in it and another in a small 1 gallon pot so i can get a small amount of bud while im waiting for the rest. does anybody have any experience or can help me with this strain?

the problems with kc45 that i found was the fact they get really big
3 gal lst'd i cut it in half at around 2 months and the side branches at harvest were close to 3'
had no issues with them autoflowering largest pot was 3 gal smallest was 32 oz

ohh cause i was originally gonna use them for a guerrilla grow but then i herd that they auto flower when the tap root hits the bottom of there container. i was gonna do most of them in a large pot but i was hoping i could get some bud quicker if i used a small pot. i really want to get some nice organic marijuana for my mum cause she is very sick and in alot of pain i hate seeing her take all these pills that dont seam to be helping. what was your yield? do you have any pictures?

Fact is there's not a whole lot of "hard data" floating around here about it. People start experiments and then poof scrap it. I've seen some outdoor pics of them that got pretty big. I wouldn't really hold your breath on it though. 10 out of 10 of mine didn't auto but they were in ground. They went through the full veg cycle during summer. Some others have said theirs auto'd and whatnot but then nothing else in the journal. I haven't seen one from start to finish anyways.
Regardless mine all seeded anyways cause I had abandoned them after reading "ummmm they only auto in pots" They were standing at around 3 - 6 feet varying when I decided to go give them a look after 4 months. The only nutes they got were the time released stuff in the soil amendments and the only water they got was rain.
As far as what you'll pull come harvest I couldn't tell you. Mine were fully seeded 100% colas and popcorns. They were dried for a 3 days in a hot room with a dehumidifier. Then all the seeds harvested. All the stringy stuff left over was thrown in a grinder and given to a buddy. Came out to about 8.5 grams of green dust. So one thing I CAN Tell you is that they don't auto in ground :wall: mine didn't anyways.
I'm going to try and debunk this whole thing though because it's like an urban legend to me now. Next season I'm going to toss em in varying container sizes and see what the deal is. From a solo cup, large taco bell cup, 2 liter bottle, and a 1 gallon container. The rest are going to get thrown in a few guerrilla plots because I wanna see what a nice seedless product will be. Maybe tecdc can chime in on that.
As far as autos go though I've settled on Think Different after looking through various journals and reports. From Herbies description it's a Sativa dominant auto percent wise. I've got my eye out for a nice Indica dominant auto as well. Haven't made a 100% commitment to that yet.

yeah i got 4 kc 45 seeds from herbies and they all look really small and a little green. its been 3 days using the paper towel method and they still haven't popped im a bit disapointed. i also got a think different seed but i havent seen anything on them being done in a guerrilla grow. every time i grow at my house i get ripped so i dont want to waist it on that.

I would have to think that the roots hitting the bottom of the pot to cause flowering would have to be wrong. I mean in the wild they would virtually never flower unless they find a rock bed or some other hard substrate they couldn't pass threw. Could you imagine 100' plant. Lol. Just saying Pot size is important but autos grow with an internal clock. Some shorter then others while others are longer then others. All depends on strain. Bottom of the bucket could be 6 foot and they would still flower within a time period. They can get monstrous and produce huge yields.

My next grow will be Auto Fem KC45's and auto fem NL. Lucky me I have an 8' ceiling at the peak. I have heard if done right indoor the height will be needed.

New guy

auto seeds are great to start with

the ones u picked tho are huge flowers .................i would say take something different for your first time indoor

personally and alot of ppl i help
like
berry ryder...from auto seed (berry good)
trans siberian..from auto seed (they love this one very frosty)

those 2 are short growers like a X with a top cola ...............u can do those in 3 gallon pots my personal best is 4 oz off each strain but that is with 1200 w of mixed lights ............they will grow maybe 2 feet 2 and half and bush out say foot and half ) i got 5 of them in a 4x4 area

eventually it terminates the veg cycle and begins to flower
pot size has a huge impact on how long it veg's
im using this strain as the auto male in my mad scientist experiment to make a autoflower purple haze :)
a 32 oz cup gave me a 3' lolipop single cola of around a half oz and the others i had i had to cut in half they where competing with my haze plant
but they where in 3 gals
the kc45 is a super auto to say the least
it is alot like the handful chaze that i grew out many years ago

c. ruderalis has adapted to living in thawed permafrost type conditions it would make total sense that it would not outgrow its habitat
and flowering could very easily be triggered buy a environmental variable
have you ever waterlogged a 5 gal with a auto in it ?
ive seen it to the point it terminates veg from over watering stunts and begins to flower
im not saying there is not a magic timer
but the timer is not the only variable ;)

2013-11-05 02.50.21.jpg kc45 male 2013-11-05 02.50.36.jpg kc45 female i planted 7 of these had one hermi male kept pollen from it
out of 3 true males i selected the first to show sex and just happened to have the densest node placement and showed trichs at preflower smoked a quick dry bowl and caught a nice buzz so i killed all males but this one flowered the remainder of the females one had a poor nute tolerance so i culled it and replaced it with a royal cheese auto
