K.I.S.S. Method

Is anyone using the kiss method of nutrients. For those not familiar with this method - all that is used is 7 grams of GH MaxiBloom for the entire grow. It is supposed to be close to Lucas - simple and inexpensive.

I'm not sure who developed it but I saw it on another forum. 7 grams of GH MaxiBloom in a gallon of tap water - adjust the ph accordingly and that is all that is required. It's been around for years with very good success. No need for all the expensive additives.

you can do that with ANY good 1 part nutrient, but amounts need to be adjusted. All though silica and cal/mag are stuff you might want to add.

According to growers that use this - they very rarely have to add anything to the mixture. There is quite a long thread on ICMAG that was started about 4 years ago. Interesting reading.

In coco is when I usually must add a little calmag;-)
Peat based soiless mixes, not usually.

silica will help keep her pest free and strong to hold up the huge buds :bigjoint:

Beautiful plants Aeroknow. GH FloraNova Bloom is very close to Lucas Formula as well. A little bit more expensive than MaxiBloom though.

Thanks man.
I've been using both on and off again since they came out. Although yes, the maxiseries is a little cheaper, the FN is a little easier to use IMO. Just shake and poor. Maxi=measure, add to hot water in a jug, and shake, then poor. I get tired of doing that, than switch back to the FN. then I get tired of getting brown shit on everything, and then switch back:-D
Both are excellent one-parts for sure.
If I'm busting out a recirc setup, it's def always gonna be maxi because FN gunks up shit.

My KISS method lately in coco has been Hesi Coco Bloom.. Nova bloom works also, but with hesi no need for adjusting ph or ec(organic N so it won't show up any way on my bluelab).
3ml/ltr for veg, and 5ml/ltr for bloom. Also much cleaner than Nova.. Now and then I'll add some silicon and/or calmag if needed..
Works just fine for my micro coco setup with small led lights..
Just Keep It Stupid<> Simple :)

yup, that's is the very basic Lucas formula...they first said to use Maxi-Gro for veg mode then latter on said you "could" use Maxi-Bloom from start to finish, but I prefer using both.

I use GH pH drops, which are close enough for my hempy grows, also I must add a cal-mag supplement as my tap water lacks minerals, you may or may not require this, depending on your water source and the medium you are growing in.

my link has some pic's on how I mix the GH powder, never liked that shake the jar method

I've used The Lucas formula for about the last 3 years and have recently made the switch to the k.I.s.s. method with Maxi bloom and a dash of Maxi grow during veg.

Since the down time and reading over at ICMag about the KISS method I started converting and likening what I'm seeing ! Have been using Earth Juice original 5 part and it's great for hand watering but not for automated and doesn't stay fresh long enough in the res.

The nute company's are selling water and breaking all the parts down is silly. Then telling us they do that because they don't react well with each other, no thanks and moving on.

Maxibloom for me for now. Would like to try Veg+Bloom at some point and if I were into production I would order from MBferts and use there lineup.
