"In the United States, more vector-borne diseases are transmitted by ticks than by any other agent1. During the past 20 years, tick-borne diseases have taken on increased importance as humans have moved into rural areas and increased their recreational outdoor activity. Tick-borne diseases can result from infection with pathogens that include bacteria, rickettsia, viruses, and protozoa (Table 1). Looks big for a deer tick (the lyme disease kind, deer can have a vast array of different ticks).

I read that mice are now lyme disease tick carriers in a game news magazine.

Had a friend who got pretty sick, never knew he got bit, didn't know what was wrong, diagnosed 6 months later after Dr's. missed it for awhile.

Yeah I had a bullseye acouple years back and took doxycycline. They had me test once and said it was negative and then said it's always negative the first few weeks. So then I said well why'd you have me waste my money you slimy fucks. And just kept the 21 day course and never retested. Gonna go to the med express tomorrow and check out the receptionist I guess.

don't take this too lightly. ticks spread many diseases worse than lyme disease. we're talking stuff that can put a man in the grave.

a (much) worse than normal tick season is predicted for huge swaths of the country this year. be mindful everyone.

tuck those jeans into your socks and palpate yourselves for these sick fuckers anytime after going outside.

monitor for symptoms if you find one in you.

I hear its the smaller, tiny actually, deer ticks that are the problem. Not the dog ticks like the one you have. I think. I went for the shot and after my first dose had pain in my forearms from the shot. Fuck that. I told the doctor what he could do with his lyme vaccine. Haven't had any problems since. My aunt had lyme disease. Couple other people I know too.
I don't think yours was a deer tick Neo, but what do I know?
