Im sure they already have started and im gonna pay for them classes and end up trimming or something along those lines. Im already making 45,000 so i definetly cant afford to take a pay cut.
No, it's a Scam. A legit scam...you pay them and then go home. If he was for real he would have showed you a warehouse filled with plants ... All they did was let you hear an exhaust fan...then they asked you for money. What grow questions did they ask you?

Not many he did discussed that he did not want to hear about any illegal grows as that would disqualify you from getting the job as it is illegal in illinois. There main objective was to pich the classes and he would guarantee that i would have a job if i get the training.
But its an 45min drive they will have dispensarys close to me so i guess i could work there.
But yeha its very sketchy.

I'm sorry you were met with so much disappointment, Hellmutt. Better luck next time. Still, as Mr. Sunshine and others pointed out, you'd make much more growing for yourself. Could you get a MMJ card and a grower's license? If you could grow enough, well enough, you could always sell to the dispensaries and that alone would bring you more into the scene. Plus, if you get connected with some real, compassionate dispensaries that care about their patients and not the patient's money, you would skip over dealing with scammers ever again. Just a thought. In any case, I hope whatever you choose works out for you.

Ok so i did the interview i met there "coordinator" @ a nearby Starbucks and he asked me the basic interview questions then he asked me if i was opposed to traveling and furthering my MMJ education and then we drove out to the plant wich was another 20 min away so it would be 50min drive for me. The plant is located in what i would describe a small airport with them aircraft garages they have about two foot ball fields size wearehouse. And we walked in he explained what they offer and how they are looking to operate wich is very strict would have camaras watching you all the time and security post. Also would require to pat you doun before and after you leave work.
Well we walked in and i couldn't picture in my head how all the plants, lights and fans would be situated theres enough room for 10ft plant and about 100 of them it was just so big and empty.
He did ask me about sertain techniques that i know regarding growing and harvest. But nothing formal that i would of expected to be asked.
Now this was very interesting because we came to a different part of the plant where we dint enter but he did hint that it was there as the start up. I was trying to listen or see or smell anything but all i could hear is fans going and the usuall grow room noise. So i think they already have started.
So heres the kicker.. they have different positions available but i would have to get a degree in Everything regarding MMJ.. i asked what was available and they said that as soon as i get my degree wich is a seminar that they are teaching i could apply for any position availiable.
Oh and the seminar is 4 days for 890$ and you would have ur choice of positions still available.

So i was like wtf? I thought i had applied for dispensary or the grow tech.
And so i was like if i pay for this course you sure that i would get a job as a tech or dispensary bud tender?
So he told me that the jobs that require advanced agricultural degree had already been taken and they brought 9 growers some from Colorado and California.
And that i would be working under them.
I thought like what if i pay for this degree and end up trimming for 12.00 ph. So i told him that i would definetly get the degree and reapply but i had to discuss it with my wife.
Then came the hard sell to get me to enroll now, wich really turned me off and make me think twice. But still thinking about it there still from what he said was another 35 ppl to higher.

So what u guys think i should do??
scam

Bro be cautious about that shit.you yourself said there was a lot of red tape in your state for these "big" companies to get started and it's been how many years that there capital ($) has been tied up waiting to open up shop maybe they've lost there funding from there investors and are trying to supplement it by selling these classes.

I could be over thinking this though

^^^ yes thats exactly what's happening. They thought it was easy comming here and setting up shop. But its one thing after another.

Did you let your wife read the comments here?
Let me have her look a this thread and see what she thinks.
So the reason i could not get a job with out this and the reason the interviewer could not ask me about my past experience is because its illegal in illinois so that would automatically disqualify me.
Its like admitting i committed a crime.
So what he was saying is with this degree he is sure i have some experience.
So I'm already expecting the worst just in case.
But worst thing that can happen is im out 890.
And have some bogus degree.

But yeha like bravedave said let see what my wife says....
Class starts Oct 5th and only the ppl envited to be in the class can attend.
