So im wondering if this strains hairs tend to turn earlier than others. Flipped 12/12 August 3rd. I can't find any solid info on this strain Quicksand Kush. It's def indica dom. I have a jewlers loupe but since its my first harvest im having a hard time telling the difference between clear and opaque. Here are a couple pix.Screenshot_20170910-003448.png Screenshot_20170910-003410.png Screenshot_20170910-003327.png 20170908_004030.jpg

Hard to tell without being close up, but there's another grower in here who's doing QS and that shit flowers fast. Ready to harvest in less than 55 days.

Lol
This would be a perfevt strain to grow outdoors here in oregon where we have limited growing season. The buds on this quicksand are super dense and heavy. I've never harvested before so I know that 75% weight will be lost after curing and drying. Do the soze of the buds shrink as well once a majority of the moisture has dried out ?

Very close to being done.
I let the leaves tell me when it is finished, not the trichomes, when they start to turn yellow, it will be finished.
Nice bud by the way.

Thanks man! Happy with my first grow. Now that I have a veg section going I can cycle plants into flower and have something to harvest every other month

you can take down any time but she looks happy healthy and vigorous. I bet at least a week , probably more . I think you will lose out on some dank swell it you cut and run now. IF you plan on growing this strain many times again let a good looking plant go too far , so you can see what to expect.

Those pics were actually taken on day 35. ( end of week 5 ). I'm just starting week 7 now. And majority of hairs are orange now. I'd say about 65% ive turned orange if not more . I'll grab my loupe tonight and try and post some close up pics of the trichomes. Thanks for all the help guys!

I would go to the end of week 8 at least with any strain even if it looks done

I'm actually growing a mother quicksand kush in my veg garden for cloning. I wanted to do an outdoor grow next year with it but don't want to have to keep recloning all the way till next april

I've actually noticed how much thicker they have been getting these past few days. I started flushing yesterday. I did 4 ml per gal of botanicare sweet raw to load it up on sugars so it can metabolize the rest of the nutes and from now on will only be using straight water ph to 6.5. Any tips on flushing or harvesting? I know to let the pot get all the way dried out and to make sure I cut it during lights off. When should I remove all the bigger fan leaves? Two days before cutting?

You can take them off anytime during the last week or if they are super yellow and drooping. make sure there is air movement in the drying room but no fans blowing straight on the buds. And humidity around 60

Thank you for the advice! I think I'm just gonna prop my camping tent up and hang dry them in there with a clip fan and humidifier. Does it need to be completely dark during the hanging process?
