Just Discovered Brownish Bugs Feeding All Over Roots

So I discovered a bunch of small "mite" looking brownish bugs in my medium today. After further investigation I realized there are LOTS of them deep down feeding in the root structure. Any idea what these are? Are they Aphids?

I also have some winged gnat looking things that I'm getting with tack paper hanging. Are these the same as my root bugs but winged??

Thes are early mothers (maybe not anymore) and I have them in 1/4" loose rockwool in baskets. I've already removed the plant and all the medium from their root structure, and replanted using different baskets and fresh rockwool. If they survive the transplant, I need something to add to the watering to kill off any other larva that may be hanging around. Any ideas??

HELP!!
