Just an old man and his bubble buckets.

Good day all! It's been some time since I posted on this forum, or any forum. I Have been growing for a long time now. Outside in the eighties. Then, when the internet came into play, we started learning about hydroponics. I started with Aeroponics around 2000, since then I have used bubble buckets, hempy buckets, and dirt.

I think Aero is the most effective, but bubble buckets are a close second.

I just moved from a state where growing weed can get you a real long prison sentence. Now I live in a state where its legal to grow in my home. Just let me say...after forty five years of looking over my shoulder, and checking my rear view mirror every five seconds. It's a strange feeling, but a really good one.

So after a year between grows, here we go. Right now I have my humidity dome set up, with a T5 above. Seeds are being shipped, as are a few additional hydro, grow items. I will be using grow plugs for germination.

The grow space is a basement. 5'X6'X7'HI.
Walls and floor are lined with white poly.
Light is a 600w duel spectrum HPS.
Lumatek ballast.
I'll be using for the first time, GH one part nutrient.
I will be posting pics soon, and as needed.

Please feel free to speak your mind!

Oh wow, I must be blind. Thanks k.
Here are some pics.

Ready for seeds.

The grow space.

The lids fit so tightly on the buckets, I had to drill holes and use sink stoppers. This is for access to check to Ph and PPM.

I'm using two air stones per bucket. The pumps on each end are double pumpers.

015.JPG
A small Maxi-Jet mag drive pump is great for draining the buckets when it's time to flush.

016.JPG
A decent multiple plug.

A light weight, moveable, reflective wall, made from PVC and Poly.

Wall is closed during lights on.

Cool air is forced down into the basement from a window just above the fan. Hot air will rise from the grow room, 7' above the bottom of the stairs, while cool air is pushed down. I'm thinking it will work just like a fireplace...the hot air rises and goes up the same flu in-which the cold air falls.

So there you have it...my little part of grow heaven.

Hmmmm, plants too big...this is the problem I'm shooting for.

I've had to supercrop more than once, and by Henry, I'll do err again if I need to.

I sent a buddy of mine an email explaining how I was pulling some weeds in the back yard today, and found a small bag marked Maui, and had ten seeds in it. WTF!!! I'm sitting here holding my breath, waiting on seeds to come in the mail, when I find some just laying out in my back yard. I wonder who lived here before me???

I started to plant them in the rapid rooter, but decided to wait until I have finished, with the seeds which are coming. The seeds being delivered are Blackberry Rhino Kush. I think they have a higher THC content than the maui.

But nun the less...how strange is it to find a pack of high grade pot seeds in your back yard???

I always question the original genetics unless its from a breeders pack, even when my buddy says its from some "fire AK-47 bro trust me". But anyways yeah, I'm totally following along for this grow. Its nice to have an outdoor grower in the DWC forum around this time of year ;). Us indoor growers need folks like you! I tell you.... Gorilla Growing almost isnt worth it. You gorilla grow or have a garden outside?

Ps; MIGHT want to elevate the electrical strip off the floor... atleast 2 inches =P Hydro leaks n electrical don't mix. Or zip tie it to the PVC pipe or put wall anchors in the drywall and zip tie it there xP just my 2 cents.

Thanks V. You are right on both counts. I immediately questioned the seeds I found...Why didn't they start to germinate... were they from a breeder or just some kid with some seeds...are the worth my time and trouble?

I received my seeds today. My beans are now my babies! I placed all six seeds in GH grow plugs, then placed them in the humidity dome. I pH balanced the water at 5.8, and watered all the plugs.

I will have pics soon.

Let the games begin!

Dig the room and x2 on the electrical strip coming up off the floor. Im going to make one of your pvc/mylar removable walls. I could have used it on my grow this time around.

Outstanding on the Mylar/PVC wall. I will probably copy that idea some time in the future. Consider posting it in the DIY thread.

My next house will have a basement for sure. Nice set up.

Thanks you guys! Yeah, the removable wall is simple to make, and the parts are cheap. I don't glue the parts together. I want the legs to be able to turn, so I can reposition it. I might should have made this one just a little shorter.

Can I get away with a 4' x4 bulb T5 HO 210watt fixture for a 4x4 footprint? Ive never used T5's and I noticed you mentioned them in your original post. I have yet to setup my T5 fixture lol. I got it for 150$
