Hey guys,

I have been browsing these forums for a while now, but as yet have never posted a thing. I think its time to change things.. ;) *FIRST POST*

I have been researching here for a while now, and cannot believe the helpful advice i have found. You guys are awsome! :D

And now onto my grow....

I have a cupboard that i recently decided to grow in.
Dimensions are : Width - 87cm, Depth - 49cm and Height - 130cm.
I have mylar to cover the walls. Need to also apply to ceiling and floor of cupboard within next few days.

I have a DIY CO2 Generator made from yeast and sugar just to give it a little boost.

I have a DIY carbon filter, made by myself following a simple tutorial on here (Link+Rep to MightyBuddha. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/7074-easy-build-diy-carbon-filter.html ).
07112010156.jpg
At the rear end of the filter there are two PC fans sucking the air through.
Underneath this outtake, there is an intake with a filter over the rear to prevent anything from entering the closet grow. All these three fans are on a timer, of usually every half an hour for about 12 hours. I have it turned off for when my lights come on(12am) during the cold early hours of the day (Until 9am). The timer turns the fans on about 9am then every half hour until about 9 pm.
There are also two fans attached to the light unit, these are on the same timer as the lights.

At the moment I have 1x 125W CFL 6500K and 1x 15W CFL 2700K. I have ordered 2x 125W CFL 2700K. I also have one more cable for one of these bulbs to go in. So while Veg I would have 1x 125W CFL 6500K and 1x 125W CFL 2700K. I believe that these two bulbs together would give the best available spectrum of light for my babies. Once my babies will start to flower I will switch the 125W CFL 6500K bulb to the one remaining unused 125W CFL 2700K. This will hopefully give it the right amount of light to bud properly and sufficiently. I have now used an upside down metal sink to use as a reflector for my bulbs. Pure Genious i'm tellin ya! :D

At the moment I do not know the actual size of my pots. I will update when i manage to figure it out. They are fairly large and last year i managed to pull a 8 FT beast outside from these. Shame UK weather doesn't bud the plant to its best... :(.
DSC000442.jpg Not bad for bag seed outside, 1 plant :P Look at how small the top head is though... pooor. Was very nice smoke and got you couch locked so couldn't complain for free! But.. this time, I will provail and produce some dank nice buds :)

So as you can see in the picture above, it was just a cupboard I used to dry bud last year. It has been empty since, so as of this month I decided to start inside.
16112010157.jpg
I kitted it out with a couple fans, carbon filter, 2x CFL's and some mylar.

I decided to grow 3 plants at once. 1x The Chronic(Bulldog), 1x Fast Bud (AF.SweetSeeds) and Speed Devil #2 (AF.SweetSeeds). The Fast Bud and SD#2 were both germed on 05/11/10. Both were potted up into those pots ^^ on 10/11/10. The Chronic was germed on 13/11/10 and was potted up on 15/11/10. I plan to have the chronic still in veg while the other two autoflowers bud.

As of today the Fast Bud and SD#2 are on day 17 of veg, and The Chronic is on day 12 of veg.
Here are sum pics of my babies. The biggest one is the Fast Bud. Supposidly the 60 day wonder, and oh mi gosh would you believe that. It is growing so quick its unreal! :) I had to repot these into bigger pots pretty quick as the roots were visible within a week or so. so now they are in the big orange pots :) Transplanted on 26/11/10. This made a huge difference to the Fast Bud. It has grown rapidly ever since.

There are the pics of the first couple of weeks :) I hope some of you will take interest in this grow, as I intend to journel from now until its done. :)

If you have any questions about my grow, please feel free to post. Any information or critism will be taken greatfully. :) Happy days people.

Hey HerbalBeast,
Thank you very much. They are looking pretty damn healthy :) I hope it goes as well as it is at the moment. I will try to update as regularly as possible. Like i said in my post i will hopefully be having another 125W CFL 2700k through the post early next week, so I am hoping that the extra light will help boost it a lil.

I also forgot to add, that at the moment the only nutes I am using are Coco Canna A+B, I will be using these throughout as well as PK 13/14 and Canna Boost Accelerator when the plants begin to bud.

Thanks again,

Scrott McBudd

I just uploaded some pics of my own, 4 weeks from seed if you wanna check'em out. I also LST to minimize the space needed and maximize the light on them tops. Pinching is a great way to keep your stems thick and strong peace :leaf:

Nice man, i'm looking into LST or SCROG as my space is ltd. yours are looking v v nice and healthy bud, you about 2 weeks ahead I think? I've been debating about the two, but both seem like they would work well..
And also, "Pinching"??

the seeds sprouted in the first week of november. If I remember correctly it was the 4th of Nov.

pinching means what it means. you take the stem between your thumb and your index finger and squeeze it until you feel a little crack. don't worry, the plant will probably drop a bit but you will be amazed with the results. It's good to do this in an early stage, and judging by your pics, you should start. In my journal you'll see some pics, even amongst the ones taken today, where I photographed the stem, and you can see how thick it is. I've started doing the same now on the branches and it seems to work as well. The main stems I cannot touch them anymore as they are so hard I can't squeeze them. They are like a piece of wood :leaf:

Hey guys,

I know I only posted pics yesterday but the leaves seem to be curling upwards slightly, any reason for this? Any information would be greatly appreciated, +Rep.

Other than that they seem to be quite healthy :) Thanks again guys :)

hmm.. they look pretty normal, and DO post pics every day if you can. I was planing on that but fuck I'm too lazy :) . Now... they seem OK to me, usually when they love their home they pray to the light and the leafs rise up a bit. In case I don't see the obvious and the leafs are actually curling, then check the temp and bring it down a bit. That should solve it.

Have you thought about starting to LST the one in the second pic? Looks ready for it :) Cheers my friend :leaf:

Hey HerbalB,

I was going to write back last night, but got way too high lol :P so I woke up this morning and thought i'd try again. I've just attempted to LST both of the auto's. Tell me if it looks wrong in any way. Much appreciated :) Pic 1&2 is the Fast Bud, Pic 3 is the Speed Devil #2, Pic 4 is The Chronic and Pic 5 is of the whole closet.

you can definitely pull more dude. Also if you're affraid not to de-root it, just use another string close to the base of the plant. Try to bend it at 90 degrees, as I know if you don't they it's harder to shape it later. I've done the same with one of my babies and when the stems thickened I noticed it's very hard to bring them down, as they are still growing. So a 90 degrees bend would be perfect. I've read in some places that you can go even more than that. Just make sure it didn't receive any water in the past 24 hours and be slow with it. It will come around.

How's the pinching going? Cheerios :leaf:

yeah i pinched more on the big one than the others and its fattened up, pretty much doubled in size in 2 days ;) good tip. May have to see if i can tilt it a bit more then. The plants got watered about 24 hours ago so would this cause a problem? thanks again mate.

no problem. 24 hours ago is plenty of time, if you didn't over water :) but anyway, it's enough. Just be careful.. they MAY snap... you don't want that, but do it very slowly... very very slow and with patience. Release then pull again and so on, teach them to bend... you'll get the hang of it. So far I never broke a stem and I managed to bend them more than 90 degrees, but it took me around 2 hours to do this for 3 plants :) Patience patience... just roll a spliff and enjoy training them.

All done, did what you said, hope i aint snapped the stem in any way.. SDC11147.jpgSDC11148.jpgSDC11146.jpgSDC11149.jpg
This is the most i could bend without doing it to hard. I hope this works, All the auto's i've seen normally turn out with just one top head and a few nugs, hopefully with some TLC and LST i can manage a few top heads :) well i can always dream! :D

Looking good man :) Keep pinching, don't try to LST daily, let her recover from the previous one, and develop another node or two before the next attempt. In 30 days since seed, I've LSTd my fastest growing one about 5 times. I'll get some pics now and post for you :)
