Very few people on this thread, so it's as good a place to ask a noob question as anywhere else: let's say you had 4 of those in a tent - those only - and they all hermed. Are the resulting buds still good smoke, once seeds are removed? If a person is not selling, what's the biggest downside of seeded buds?

I swear I'm serious.
Dude I've had 1 or 2 herm in a tent with 5 and only seeded random buds. I use 409cfm fans as well so that shit is getting spread 3 to 4 times a minute. I usually pluck any male flowers that decide to show in early flower. Cookie strains are bad about it! I've had some that will throw a few sack and I pick off and end up with a few beans here and there. Maybe end up with a bean in every handful of buds. Full blown herm I toss quick! Also some will throw just a sac or a few and they will be sterilie. I always urge folks not to lose their shit when they see a few sac in their tents. I grow for myself and fam and we don't mind a bean here and there. I know some will flip out and say cull everything that's iffy but when you have tents full of cookie crosses and other volatile strains it's inevitable

For example...the IHG White animal was great smoke. But the seeds were a big time pain in the ass and I know it would have been much better without them.
I've got those four about two weeks after pop, a couple animal pie, a Brisco Co lemon cindy, a DNA sour cream, all about 10 days behind 3 Johnstons grandmas sugar cookies. How many that make it to bloom depend on the sex of the Johnstons.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it. I am sure I gave up on it too quick but when you have a whole tent get violated it kinda makes you not got out for drinks with the rapist a 2nd time.

LOL....I treat 'em all the same. Most plants like the house regimen, and since I'm mostly one and done with seeds, I shrug off the finicky ones and move on. Just like you, amigo. I don't plan on cloning anything this round except the Johnstons [ and gojis, of course ]. I've got a bunch of seeds I want to run through so whatever is good in those white animals have only the one chance each to impress.

Once a plant is seeded it concentrates its energy towards making seeds, and stops focusing towards making trics which are used to catch the pollen (you want your plant to be sexually frustrated).

Did yours throw nanners early or late or both?
If I remember correctly it happened around the 6th week of flower. I grew it a few cycles. Turned a nice purple color too. I harvest the tops and leave the bottoms to further ripen. The bottom buds always get a really awesome pink color in them. I still have it but I hate picking nanners so I just leave it in permanent veg.

Last night I switched my flowering tent to an LED light. I had noticed that my SRK self pollinated on some lower branches on herms/nanners I must've missed. Last night I noticed nanners on the main. Too far along to scrap the project and now that my temps are better under control I should see less of this in my garden but bottomline is that I doubt I will run this strain again unless I am utterly wowed by the smoke.

Will post pictures later, before I get my tweezer game on.

I ended up chopping SRK early. Nanners and heat issues were too much. The smoke is still fire even with the early chop. I may actually pop the last bean I have of this strain eventually in cooler weather.

Sorry, I didn't take pics but will post a nug shot later.

Does yours have the berry terps to it? Mine looks like a standard kush but smells of berries. It comes out on the exhale as well! Heavy yielder for a kush too! Can't say I was upset about a freebie I got. Would happily run some more of his gear. I always find it funny when I or others find turd phenos on $100-$200 gear and then find a home run on something I've never heard of before. Good marketing though as I'll be a repeat customer...:bigjoint:

How far along did it make it?

Grandma's Sugar Cookies [2] are just shy of 4 weeks bloom, and have been vigorous, and n/p at all this far. Would post pics, but they're under HPS, which always make for lousy pics.
