Well, fuck!, as usual I am one-more-thing away from a perfect situation.

This time I can take out and examine each plant. This is allowing me to
trim back the weaker growth and should benefit the harvest.

The missing element this time is run-off control.

My fix, this time :0), is to build an 18" high platform that my tent will sit on.

This will allow me to position catch vessels below the tent for the hempys,
or whatever else, to run-off into.

This all being said, the growth rate that I am seeing certainly speaks well
for hempys. I will have to see the harvest that I get to form a conclusion.

Good luck,

JD

I see you have some height restraints there, you sure raising the tent is your only option? Might cause you a huge headache later on bro. I also note that you are topping at the 6th node or so? Have you considered topping them sooner, at like 3 nodes, and using LST to train them out a bit? I found much increased yields doing that. Check this out, this lady is around 5 weeks and just gone into 12/12, massive amount of plant mass staying really low, she'll flower out into quite a bit of dank Kush reefer:

When done this way, it also seriously limits the stretch. As you tie down, the shoots lower on the branch gain a higher priority to the plant and shoot out a LOT more than they would when growing normally, and a lot sooner. This has the side-effect of a MUCH reduced stretch overall. It might help you deal with your height issues, and from my experience yields are more top-notch tops and less fluff and guite considerably improved from just topping.

I only got into it recently but I am already a believer in LST.

Hey Mad,

I see that too.

It is clearly true that I am not using horizontal space with
much thought....you see, I am still in "pig mode"...I cannot
keep myself from cramming the tent.

People worried about cramming smart pots into each other
when I did a 36 pot 6X6 array SOG, but I guess that I got lucky.

Now, I am down to a 3X3 array of more-vegged plants. Still tight though.

I expect that when I drop down to a 2X2 of four plants, that I will
be able to LST some real bushes.

My expectation of this grow is that each bush only needs to maintain
as few as four tops, and no more than eight. So, I only topped these
plants twice. I will think, a lot, about this.

I will likely be doing a fair amount of trimming back of these ladies.

Hello all,

I took the time to snap some shots of the garden.

of a fad out west:

The Cucumbers are pickles that will feed the family for a while. :0)

Mustard Greens and Swiss Chard:

The brassicas are doing great (these are Brussel's Sprouts):

Two types of corn....they need more soil...but are working:

Two types of chilis, Anaheim and Jalepeno:

We have arugula, artichokes, etc coming up:

I have no real outdoor plants, but I had an Auto an nowhere to put it, so I stealthed
it into the corner of a planter. See if you can see it:

There it is!

My wife loves her herb garden. I added Summer Savory, Sage, Marjoram, Thyme,
Oregano, and a couple others...FROM SEED. LOL, but really this is a big deal for me.

Some of these have seeds like smoke particles. I shit you not.

Take care all,

JD

LOL, yeah, I have several more auto freebies that will wait for
similar conditions. I grow off the books, for myself and one
college bro, so I cannot grow trees outside.

I have some good news.

That same bro gave me a clone that his carded sister bought
for me at the clinic. Sharks Tooth and Girl Scout Cookies.

NewClones.jpg

Now, I am in So Cal and there is a good chance that this
GSC cut is special. I will grow it out for clones and we will see.

Take care all,

JD

I have not heard of a GSC from seed that matched the legendary status
of the original breed. I still have hope for my clone though....

I am reminded of a statistics professor who once referred to a situation
as "if it does not spell Madagascar, then what does it spell".

i.e. either I will hit the mark, or will know that I have yet another "cookie"

Take care,

JD

Oh dang, your in so cal? For some reason I thought you were in the midwest. Sharks tooth sounds like a cool name, dont think i have heard of it. I take it is the sativa dominant one in the pic?

You should come to the get together BBQ at the lake in sacramento!

Yea heres hoping your GSC is good. I haven't been very impressed with either of my GSC cuts or the cherry pie. Definitely not to the hype all the clubs and people in the business seem to put on it.

LOL, well we will see.

I am hopeful of finding some good clone only strains
at the local clinics.

Thanks for the invite Papa.

Dont get me wrong, my cherry pie/GSC are looking great, getting crystal covered and resiny, just the hype on the GSC especially is out of control. I just haven't seen what the fuss is all about yet if that makes sense.

There it is, isn't it?

The problem is that unless I bust a nut upon the first puff,
then I will have to wonder if I have something less than the
legend. (the hype is just that huge)

...but it will be fun to dream, for a while. :0)

I dont know About all of that.. But... To my understanding GSC is a PHENO type of some Random Strain that these guys were growing. Now, it's not proven(and I'm not knockin the name)but for some reason When I'm high, Girl Scout Cookies are REALLY fuckin Good! Lol

Theory is it could have been that they were Especially good when high off this PHENO type. (Which is where they got the Gay Ass Name?)

So, I'm growing this really Bomb Strain for the Second time.. When I Smoke it, it seems that I can ACTUALLY Communicate with God.. I shit YOU not. I got the seed from a Indoor Mix Pack from Nirvana. Now... I don't know what the Fuck it is lol I'm not really worried about it anyways.
What I'm worried about is, I Want EVERYONE to smoke this stuff. I don't care if they can't Communicate with God.. I just want em to smoke it... Problem is, I can only Clone it, I can't make seeds cause I don't know what it is, so I can't somehow get a dad and make seeds the Professional way and still have the same Genes. But wait!!

I just got this NEW seed that's even better!... God that One weed I was just cloning the shit out of seems kinda old, I'm just going to keep a mother and throw it in the back of the Veg cab and forget about it.

Now... It's lost.... It died... No More Communication With God....... I'm so Down... But that New Stuff is the Kill!

I wonder if anyone is going to Claim the same with their Plants.....?... Maybe make seeds out of it... ? Maybe I'll be Famous...?

See what I did There JD? :D

You nailed it. I am hoping that by some quirk of fate I actually
got a cut of that same pheno. I know, it is too much to hope for,
but trying to get "the" GSC from seed is impossible.

There are a few clone only legends that I hope to find some day. :0)

I have heard very good things about Nirvana seeds. Their "Ice"
is one of the top breeds of a good friend and breeder in the UK.

As to seed making, this is in the works. I succeeded in making
colloidal solver and have reversed a branch, but need to set up
a pollen taking tent before I can make seeds.

Take care,

I Know Dog.... I know... Just Don't get your Hopes up man.. In the End is it really worth it?.... Yeah.... Probably Lol

Nirvana is the Only Seed Company I Trust... And I'm not good at Trusting haha

The Ice that I grew out back in late 2011 was REALLY god damn frosty. Very Piney scent with a HUGE head rush, smoke smelled like Deisle that shit was strong... Nothing really after that, vegged for 1.5 months had the perpectual going, flowering took 11 Good weeks but even better at 13. Harvesting 11oz off two plants with a 400.
My friend wanted to Grow it out though so I gave him a Bunch of clones and he became obsessed with it. So I let him have it and didn't grow it anymore.

But I've heard great things about CS.. Never really looked into it though. I grow all autos now so I'd be worried if the Auto traits would still be there?

So I am putting Money on the Hash Plant and The Kosher :D

Although, I didn't see the Kosher on List number two...

Doubled huh... That's intense! Does plant count drive you away from that just a Little bit?

Honestly,,, between the Two I'd have to say Hash Plant haha :)

I've always loved them
Hey FB,

I was passing through the thread, and I have to report that *none*
of the Hash Plant seeds popped. I tried about eight of them.

I am sure that they are older, and I lost a BB or two, but fark!

I wanted you to know.

Of the other breeds popped, I lost only Silver Kush. It is funny
how long a sprout can fight damping off, but I am sure that it
is doomed.

IMG_1785.jpg

IMG_1786.jpg
IMG_1787.jpg

You can see that most of them are have been up-potted.

We are in week three in the tent right now. The stretch is ending,
but just in time. I may need to topple a few tops over.

Take care,

JD

Don't blame that shit on me I didn't jinx nothin!

That's crazy.. I kinda Hate that actually.. Wow.

I once had a thought about keeping all hash plant strains out there and doing a Huge commercial Hash Grow...

I got to Sensi and kinda gave up, I got 2 out of the 5 and although they made the best Black hash I've ever had.. I love Green lol

Damping off is iffy with alot of different seeds, some don't even want a Drop of water intill they have two sets. That was in fresh soil. I just gave up on a NL that stalled out I gave that bitch 14 days! And she didn't give me a Second of survival... Some are just doomed from the get-go

But yeah, old seeds.... FREEZER is all I can say... use the freezer

So you know you're going to Top them didn't skip a beat over the LST idea lol

PERSONALLY, I don't top.. You're not suppose to with autos. So I can't really quote on that, but I do know everyone I know that Tops grows outside for height reasons, where the indoor growers I know LST. I LST myself and I have nothing bad to say about it

QFT

I LSTd the PurpleBerry pretty well, but I will want to go with
four plants, maybe in 20 gallon containers, if I want to really
grow bushes.

Maybe I will do this when I try Old Timer's Haze. This one is
on my wishlist, but it takes 20 weeks (!) to flower and for a
plant like that one might as well try to maximize yield.

Thanks for sharing.
