Sweet Jad,

I will be making a hempy bucket for my mother plants tonight. The soil I mixed up is not draining well and I am seeing some bad signs. Maybe I'll mess with a combo hempy meets fabric pot. I was thinking about switching them to coconut coir but this sounds a lot more forgiving.

Good stuff! Do it!

Sounds like something the mothers will enjoy! =)
I'm torn, 3.5 gallon or 5 gallon buckets? What do you think?

*Answered my own question, These will be mother plants (which means they will be grown as long as they allow) and I leave town for the weekend all the time. 5 gallon is the way to go for me.

Yup, good call. It'll make for a bigger mother, but the bigger reservoir will make it for less fuss. Or less maintenance.

And also bigger moms make for lot's more clones, so yeah. Win-win =)

I'm actually trying to save my skywalker mother. Think I got root aphids again as I am seeing the same signs, I was, at the beginning of my last grow. I am thinking that the high amount of O2 that the hempy buckets create will correct the issue rather quickly. Plus I already have my GH nutes dialed in for both of my strains. Only thing is how it will translate over from Aeroponics to hempy buckets.

Just posted a few more pics if you want to stop by and check 'em out!

I'm also curious to see how the translation from aero to hempy will go. Best of luck for the hempy project! =)

Photo update time!

So, 2 of the "babies" have gotten their roots to the water reservoir, this is visible from the growth spurt.
The new Purple Trainwreck is tagging along nicely.

Check them out!

Since the Northern Lights' pot is the smallest it got to the reservoir much faster, and hence it's bigger size.
Later on the root system will stop developing due to lack of space, and it'll end up being much smaller then either of the others.
Can't wait to switch them to 12/12 haha, must resist!

Take care everyone.

Do those purple strains need low temps to change colors? Or do you think they will throw out the purple either way?

Let's just say I will do my very best to have purple buds this time around, no matter what. haha
But from their names and genetics I am hoping that I get some easy purpling. =P

I'm actually pretty thrilled by the idea of it.

Anyway this was my last harvest.

Sometimes I still can't believe I got around to producing so much bud. And yeah, I know this is a noob result for most of you guys on RIU, but do you guys remember your first REAL crop/harvest?

Isn't it just the best feeling ever to get to fill a few jars full of great buds up to the lid?

I'm stoked.

Photo update!

Had to initiate stealth mode and cover up everything. My mother came to visit for a week.
I managed to water the Hempys halfway through the week so they never went dry.
I weighed the tops of the bigger plants down in an LST fashion to promote lower branch growth. Not only did it activate the auxins and made them sprout shoots sooner but it also developed quite a thick stem in the last couple of days. I guess it was really trying hard to bend it'self back up again!

Check them out!

Check that stem on the NL! I was amazed at my own stuff haha

I'll take the weights out soon for them to grow upwards. I'll be flipping to 12/12 in about a week or so.
Here's hoping for some great growth until then!

Photo update time.

The young plants are starting to jump. I can see big diferences every day now.

Re-arranged the pot positions to get them ready for installing the ScrOG. I'll be flipping to 12/12 on the 18th. I know it looks soon but I'm expecting a little more strech till then. And seeing as they will still strech alot after the flip, I'm hoping for a very nicely filled screen.
I chose to flip on the 18th because that way I get exactly 65 days till the time I have to go on Christmas Break. I'm hoping it's enough for a plentiful and quality harvest.

Anyway, here they are:

Filled the hempys' reservoirs with 1350ppm nutes. Now lets just hope for some good growth.

My 300cfm fan is teasing my paranoid mind, even though my girlfriend says it can't be heard outside the room, I'm going to build an MDF acoustic silencer box for it. To put my mind at ease.

Other than that, as a wise man usually says...

Onwards and Upwards!

I'm watching and waiting too Jad.

I grew a tent full of Super Skunk one time and I got a little tense and paranoid over the smell. Even with the fan and charcoal filter I thought I could smell it outside of the house. Then I found that I had a real skunk living under my storage building. I let him stay and I no longer worried about the smell.:bigjoint:

Funny stuff guys xD

I'm not worried too much about the smell for now, and I hope I wont go all paranoid once they do start to get smelly.
See, the thing is, where I live we have no skunks, so I can't pin the smelly blame on them xD hahaha Perhaps a cracked sewer pipe can make for a better excuse xD

Anyway! Time for another pic update.

So I changed bulbs tonight and flipped the timer to 12/12. Also, installed the Screen on the diagonal position.
They are on the short side still, and I'm crossing my fingers for a full screen. Maybe I'll be adding something underneath the pots so as to gain a height advantage and start filling the screen once they start the flower stretch.
Anyway, here's how it's looking right now.

019.jpg 020.jpg 021.jpg 022.jpg 023.jpg 024.jpg

And that's that. Now that I look at the photos I reckon I will really put something to lit the big pots up.

Can't wait to start seeing them strech those beautiful arms!

Hope all is well with everyone, have a great sunday!

Btw, you NL gives me hope :) I have only couple of original FS C99 seeds left and I'm looking this pheno I had but at that time was too noobie to know what I had. Trippy, positive uplifting high which would always made me smile like that cat from alive in wonderland. With friends was laughing my ass of and with my wifey bed wrestling. Couple of C99ners I grew after, they're just not the same.
Nice mutation on NL pistol btw :)
Oh and how the hell your late NL outgrew all others? I thought you sprouted it together with purple haze? How long did it take for the true node to appear between cotyledons?
Cheers

I hope you get the stretch you need but that's like 2 foot up awaynear the top of the screen and that's just straight up. I like the idea of it THOUGH, so looking forward to your update
