Jack's Classic vs Advanced vs Fox Farm Nutes

Ok, so its a possibility to use chem ferts like Jacks in a hydro..but will have to add the micros..

This got confusing... Better lay off that pipe...seriously.


First of all,

Im new to hydro... and I would think it would be awesome to go back to Jacks/Peters and make it work in a bubbler...

They(Jacks) has alot of different ferts..Gonna look into it. Thanks for your patience..Im drinking coffee now and put the stash away.

I don't know how well it will work. Soil ferts are usually not complete since the soil usually has plenty of certain micronutrients. Jack's is one of the more complete soil ferts so if I were to do a hydro grow with a soil nute I think Jack's is the one I'd go with. If you do it you have to do a thread about it so people can see how it turns out. :weed:

Oh absolutely :)

Im looking into it right now, and I have a lil spot left in my flowering bedroom, and an extra black bucket right here..heehee

You would think since its complete for soil, it wouldnt make a difference in water.

I might have it going on in a little while..

Ill most certainly post a thread. :mrgreen:

Then Peters sold out to Jack and now Its not in my area. Today, Iam more into hydro..dwc and I use Fox Farms the full line, and I give this company 5 stars. My plants are virtually a dream to grow. So easy using their feeding chart(Gotta use there chart for best results & all additives).

Iam growing 4 soil, and 5 dwc bubbler hydros at the minute for experimental comparison, and will be flowering on Sunday. If any of you would like to see what Fox Farms are made of click on my link below near my signature...

Anyways, You will see lots of photos from beginning to end using Strictly Fox Farm nutes.

Conclusion,..

If Jacks is anything like Peters, I would have to rate that stuff maybe a tad bit higher than Fox Farms.

Chemical nutes will yield slightly higher than organics.. And Fox Farm is mostly organic.

But then again, Im running bubblers...

Im excited to see whats gonna happen when my plants are flowering in

them buckets.. First time for me.



I cant believe Im gonna say this,

But, I miss Peters..Sniff Sniff.. And I believe Jacks Professional is most likely the best Chemical fert. on the market.

Jack's is Peters his name is J.R. Peters (jack) he worked for shultz back in the day and created the Peters line it is the same fert (only beter cause he is the boss now) :bigjoint:

if you have Jack's plus DynaGro you are complete, I use em both, Love em and Dynagro is a liquid that was originally designed for hydro :bigjoint:

Dyna-gro has been around forever. They are a well established and trusted name in the industry. I still use them from time to time. The Peter's name is now owned by Spectrum brands corporation (which includes Schultz fertilizers). Jack's Classic (J.R. Peters) is a seperate company now. :blsmoke:

hey riddleme, what do you think about this? if you already answered feel free to cal me a tard, (got hooked up on some outstanding G-13 (proper flush, harvest and cure) so I'm absent minded right now. Where the hell did I put my cheez-it's?

hey riddle

noticed you said Dyna was originally for hydro, is hydro all you use it for, do you alternate, mix or seperately fertilize (meaning some plants jacks only some dyna only) with Dyna and Jack's

Well, I emailed Jack,

Now Im waiting on a reply so I can find out where to buy their nutes around my area.

jack's classic works great in soil and the "dynamic duo" as they call it is very inexpensive as well as widely available... i'd recommend complete dyna gro line up if you were in hydro.

If you would just google Jack's Professional, they have about 30 different formulations and do have one specifically for hydro.:peace:

Check out the website, the Classic All purpose and Bloom Booster are just the very tip of the iceberg.

Are you guy's aware that Jack's is just Peters fertilizer, and that they are nearly all soil formulas, even the soluble formulations. Are you also aware that most the formulations have no calcium and that the ammonical percentage of nitrogrem is about 50% and should never be over 15% in a hydroponic formula. The all purpose siad best uesed in conjunction with Bllom Booster is also void of calcium and has a but load od ammonical nitrogen as urea. NEITHER SHOULD BE USED FOR GROWING POT WITH HYDROPONICS. Nasty stuff for hydro.

Here is there bloom formula:

My soil has buttloads of oyster shell and dolomite lime so I don't need any added Calcium.

that's why Jack's is perfect for me :]

oh missed that. yes Jacks would be horrible for Hydro. For hydro you must use:

dyna-gro foliage pro
dyna-gro bloom

they are complete foods, the best you can buy for hydro.

1st time using it for veg only. It's a DWC, RO water (so yes CalMag is necessary), 1000ppm using Jacks. (2Tbl to 8gal water) Good results but 1000ppm is probably a bit too high. No nute burn but I think some of the ppm is wasted. I also added Dutch Master Zone and Silica for roots and stem strength.

It's been several days and no ill results. Great growth but time to move to flower and Dutch Master Gold. Pretty soon I'll try Jacks Bloom Booster instead of DM for flower.

Not doubting you but I wasn't aware that jack's made hydro ferts. I checked their website and didn't see anything about a hydro formula. If you could find the web page and link it I would be most appreciative. :bigjoint:
