Jackberry

I'm growing a few Sannie Jackberry plants indoors to supplement my outdoor season and decided to chronical here in its on thread, instead of wearing out the outdoor section with a bunch of indoor updates, ha ha ha. since the site is experiencing difficulties, at least for me, posting pics, I may post pictures over several posts, since 1-2 pics seems to be the limit it allows me per post.

Anyway, I started 4 of these January 11 in jiffy pellets and within 4-5 days all had popped. By January 20 I had all potted and placed these 4, plus two more 2 weeks older, but had stunted some, under a four 23w 6500k bulbs. Here's a few pics over time.

Anyway, I'm growing in an organic soil mix with a lot if perlite. I've upped the lights to eight 23w 6500k this week and am watering as needed with 6 tsp Big Bloom and 2 tsp grow big per gallon water.

So today the two older plants were starting to make node number 7, so I topped back to the 3rd node and stripped everything below it for mainlining. Before and after:

Thanks for looking. They were slow to start, but man once those roots got a hold in my loose as fuck soil mix, the horizontal growth exploded in a 3-4 day period. Though clones and pheno selection for future outdoor grows is my objective, at least one, HOPEFULLY, is going all out to finish. Hell, who knows where the fuck it will end.

edit: finding a pheno with an early finish, that looks like my avatar, would be nice, though I hear the green Jack leaning pheno has the best yield and buzz. I'm ready to find out for myself and put an end to the rumors once and for all friends.

I can't wait till I'm that good with growing. I've never cloned but will definitely give a try sometime in the future. Mainline is something I want to do with my next grow.

Well then, I'm exactly two clones and two plants topped for mainlining ahead of you, lol. My experience is in starting from seed, outdoor and finishing there, occasionally seeding a lower branch for seeds. This whole indoor thing is new to me, but looks attractive and will definitely supplement my outdoor growing. I'm just fucking around, using knowledge learned from this site, coupled with 20 years growing outdoors and playing it by ear. Basic care for plants varies little indoor or out. Basic.

Your 19 yrs and 5 months ahead of me as far as growing is concerned ...lol. That being said I'm starting some indoors in in about 2weeks to put out in March. I started my seeds in Aug. Lol. So Cfls got me ahead this year, plus I need as much experience as I can get.

Day 16 veg. Watering this week with 6 tsp Big Bloom and 3 tsp Grow Big per gallon as needed. I swapped two of my eight 6500k bulbs for 2700k, to throw in a little different spectrum and added a lone 6500k to the back for my humidity dome with the two tops I'm hoping to root, all are 23W. For future reference, the two plants that are actually nearly two weeks older, but were stunted are called Superman and 5K. The other 4 which have't been topped yet are Stretch, Ex, Chubby and Squat. Thanks for looking.

Day 17 veg. I added another each 2700K and 6500K, as Stretch is really getting it. Five of the 6 are your atypical fat AF pure indica looking, 5-blade leaf plants. Stretch however has thinner, 7 and 9-blade leaves and is outpacing the more compact others, so that's interesting. Looks like I'll be topping Stretch and probably Chubby tomorrow. Lined a few up front for a quick pic.

I like your style. I'm thinking if it doesn't turn out how I plan then I'm going to use the setup I have as a supplement for outdoor aswell .

Nice looking plants !!

Thanks for checking it out!

So when stretch hit her 5th node, instead of the general opposing two leaves/suckers, it developed 3 and now the 6th set is the same. A mutation I guess? I'm topping Stretch and probably Chubby later using Uncle Ben's technique for four main colas, but may top at 3rd node for 6 mains to start, as I'm cloning all as I top and may need more attempts than one per plant, ha ha. The two extra colas could be used as cuttings later if my first attempt fails. I topped two others a couple days ago, Superman and 5K, for mainlining and depending on how fast it all happens, I'll top for either 4 or 8 main colas. Before and after pictures to come.

Day 18 veg and topping the first of the last four popped, Stretch, the one with the greatest amount of outward growth of any of the six, with skinnier 7-9 bladed leaves. It's the plant with three leaf sites, all perfectly opposed in a perfect triangle, starting at the 5th and sixth nodes and is seen in the first 3 pics before topping. The other plant getting topped today is Chubby, who looks a LOT like a strawberry plant, with the dominate, stubby and round 5-bladed leaves, lol, especially after topping. I'm attempting to root the tops as I go, since I'm flowering these to finish and want replicas of the phenos I'm after for both outdoor grows and my small indoor op. Pics 4 and 5 are Chubby before topping, 6 is both plants after topping at 3rd node, along with their tops placed in jiffy pellets for rooting, while 7 and 8 are back to the grow space which looks much emptier. Thanks for looking.

edit: Watered Stretch and Chubby half strength from this week's usual 6tsp BB/3tsp GB per gallon, due to a bit of burn on 5K's leaf tips when I watered full strength after topping 2 days ago. No burn on Superman however, but still backed off. Watered Squat and Ex full strength and plan to top those two tomorrow or next.

Day 20 veg. Topped last two, Stout and Ex at 3rd node and as with the others, I'm attempting to root the tops. The first pic is out of sequence, but I'm just glad it loaded. Sorry for sideways pics and shitty focus, but iphone 5 focus sux. Watered both with plain water.

Day 22 veg. Watered the four that were topped for 6 mains (4 plus 2 extra for clones if tops don't root) Stretch, Chubby, Ex and Squat with full strength (6 tsp Big Bloom and 3 tsp Grow Big). Today is the first day of my week 4 feeding, which called for cutting back BB to 3 tsp, but since I'm gonna transplant in a day or two, I'm gonna stay with 6 tsp BB for another week or two.

I had 2 tops rooting from last Sunday, 2 from last Wednesday and 2 from this past Friday in the same humidity dome, so I moved the two oldest, Superman and 5K into an upside down, deep, cheap plastic bowl last night and moved all away from 20/4 vegging area and placed 20 inches under a single 23W bulb in the hope of promoting root growth, next to the main heat source. I noticed today that the older ones -- who's leaves I didn't trim back -- were standing up, whereas they had been kinda droopy. The tips of the leaves show some yellowing and when I removed the dome from the two oldest for two hours, they really didn't wilt much, if at all. I went ahead and put the dome back on and in a few hours, will leave it off for 3-4 hours or more. I still see no visible roots yet, but am confident these first two have rooted.

I lined up the 2 oldest, Superman and 5K which are topped and cleaned for mainlining, for a pic, then the four younger -- Squat, Ex, Stretch and Chubby which are topped for 6 mains -- for their own pic, all left to right. I also include a canopy shot under the right side of hood, a blurry close up of 5K's mainlining progress and one of my two older tops I hope have rooted. They had been domeless in a 32% humidity room for just over 2 hours when I snapped the pic, so I hope that leans toward success. Thanks for looking.

Here's both 5K and Superman a week ago, compared to side by side today, though it's 5K and Superman left to right a week ago and then Superman and 5K left to right today.

Day 24 veg. Watered the two topped for mainline, Superman and 5K, yesterday full strength and gave Stretch a sip of plain water, even though it's not due until tomorrow. The every other day thing isn't even enough for her growth and a 32 oz container. I've got to up-pot tonight or tomorrow. Anyway, I watered the other four topped for 6 colas with plain water today. Speaking of outgrowing containers, I had to go to 12 lights total yesterday due to all the growth, eight 6500K and four 2700K, both 23w.

I pulled them out and into the laundry room for pics. In the pic of all six, the two mainline topped babes are on the far right, 5K top and Superman bottom. 5K is the only one to remotely show sex and it looks like a he. The group of four are the ones topped for 6 main colas, with Chubby and Stretch at top (l to r) and Ex and Squat on bottom (l to r). The other pic is of my first two cuttings from the tops of Superman and 5K, day 9 and not wilting out of the dome, so I placed them to the side of the veg lights. I places the Jiffy pellets in the bottoms of styrofoam cups to hopefully keep them from drying out so fast.
