Jack Herer + The Cheese - The Journey Continues....From Day 1 Flower

New grow, fresh start, new strain, lots of modifications in the grow room, now I'm ready to share it all with you peeps here on RIU. :blsmoke:

So, lets start with the modifications I've made to my flowering room.

1) Mounted ballast on the outside of my room to help keep my temps down in summer, it's gonna be getting warmer soon.

2) Fitted a new more powerful 5" extractor. This thing is a beast and moves 480m3/h. It's kinda noisey but I got the exhaust hooked up with insulated ducting and a carbon filter which really muffles the noise. I also have a speed controller connected, as I don't need to run it at full wack all the time. Only on the hottest days.

3) Finally, I've fitted a new wall mounted osciallating fan. I've been through so many cheap shitty fans since I started growing that I decided to get a decent one this time and hopefully it will last a bit longer. This one has a 'soft wind' mode, so it varies the speed of the fan all the time while osciallating and it creates a lovely breeze. It's great being wall mounted too as it saves space on the floor.

I also gave my room a real good clean and tidied up some of the cabling so it's all neat and tidy.

So, that's all the hardware changes....now for the stock! :leaf:

Up first, we have my Jack Herer #5 mother, she has been vegging for around 4 months from clone. I didn't think she was going to make it at one point, but I pulled her back with lots of TLC and now her time has come!

This plant is going to be MASSIVE and yield very big, I can't even begin to imagine what she will yield as I've never flowered anything this big before that has been vegged for so long. It's very exciting!

Next up and making a first time appearance in my flowering room is The Cheese! :joint: I've had this cut which I acquired from a fellow grower for a couple of months. It's been a bit neglected, but she's doing fine now and I'm looking forward to watching her bud up.

The above pics were taken a couple of days ago while they were still in veg. Today is Day 2 Flowering.....

They are both in big 15l (4 gal) pots with good quality Canna Professional soil.

Before putting them into flower, I took some cuts to keep the genetics going and my options for future grows open. JH#5 on the left, Cheese on the right.

I'm going to be getting some new seeds to start as well soon, Hash Plant or Balck Dominia, I just can't decide!

Anyway, that's it for now. I hope you enjoy following along. I'll try and do weekly pic updates on Fridays.

Cheers Nat, it's a pleasure to have you following along as always. Yeah man, I've spent quite a bit on kit. I used to spend a lot more on weed though! ;)

The soil...yes. Well, bit of a cock up/experiment. Basically I ordered the wrong stuff. It's Canna Professional PLUS, instead of just the straight Professional mix. This stuff is a different kind of peat compost, I forget which kind, but anyway it's really quite different to any other soil/compost mixes I've used. It is almost more like coco, but with nurtional value, so I guess it has better aeration which is why Canna don't mix perlite in (like they do with the straight professional soil). I was going to mix in some myself, but I didn't have any and I couldn't really be arsed with all the mixing so I just thought fuck it!.....we'll see how it goes.

It is soil, just a bit special. I love the Canna soils/composts. The general purpose stuff you get down the garden centre does not really compare.

I always have 100% success with my clones. The gaps are just simply because the tray holds 24 cuts, but I only took 10. It's all I need to keep things ticking over.

Yeah man thanks for the explanation.
Hope it works out for you.:blsmoke:
Thanks mate. I think it'll be fine. Canna know their shit so I trust them and their soil to take care of my girls. I've still not tried their nutes yet though, I will probably try them out next time I run out and need to get more plant food.

yo, cdrom, good to see ya man. Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, the cheese has come on v nicely, I'm very pleased. Especially considering how she was quite badly neglected by myself. I was gonna keep her as a mother and flower cuts from her, but I needed a quicker turn around, so I decided it was time she made bud for me!

Hey passking, thanks very much my friend, much appreciated dude. I spent a lot of time tweaking/improving my flowering space since I orginally built it last year and I am very proud of my work. Next on the wish list is a fully automated climate controller to run/control my intake, exhasut and heater.

Yeah man, don't add nutes for 2-3 weeks...and you should probably be thinking about potting up around that stage anyway. I normally just pot up myself and they feed off the fresh soil again. Sometimes I don't feed till flowering. Just let your babies grow and do their thing for a bit. Good luck.

ooh... this is gonna be another good one!

best of luck friend!
Thanks for the support dude! :joint: :peace:

Just for fun, no relevance to my grow really, but, Herer's some JH pollen I've been collecting in my crystal catcher....and some JH scissor hash on the left....mmmmmm nice! :blsmoke:

:blsmoke:

I've just ordered some bubble bags as well. A 7 bag system going down to a 25 micron bag. I've been collecting trimmings for a while to process and I also have some fluffy JH buds that are going to be turned into hash as well......oh yes.....Jack Hash Bubble! Can't fucking wait!!!!!!

Thanks v much Nat. Just get yourself a pollen collector mate and you can have some of that fine powder for yourself my friend, I've only had mine since x-mas and I'm amazed how much pollen it collects for me. I've got a small pollen press too and it's just sooo easy to press yourself a nice little nug of hash for the bong! bongsmilie

The buds at the back are from my last batch of clones which I killed from thirst. These 2 only just made it. So they are not as good as they should be, but I can't complain considering the neglect. Just glad to have something to harverst from them really or I'd be running out of smoke again before my next lot are ready.

The new plants will NOT be neglected. I really want maximum yield from my Cheese and especially, my monster JH#5. :blsmoke:

Yeah, looking forward to seeing some updates. :blsmoke:

Got any larger pictures of the room? One where you can see more? I want to see the kind of space you're working with. :peace:
