I read this whole post.
I gotta say I felt like I was on the verge of a breakthrough. Very disappointed. Would of loved to see a quick schematic or blueprint of the set up. Didn't get much out of the descriptions...guess I'm a visual guy.

Do you know that I invented the flooded tube? I took what I liked about aero and dwc and combined them. I too had a thread on overgrow some 12 years ago. But alas, overgrow is gone and so is my proof. But at least I know in my mind where it came from! Actually I might be able to get a hold of some of my original pics when I built it... Now I going on a mission!

Dig those pics up! It's hard to believe that anyone really invented these Hydro techniques in the 90's. I remember seeing flooded tube grows in hightimes back in the 80's, maybe not the same as yours.

Well....I have read so much on growing on several different sites. And reading a lot of bizarre claims. I get the strong feeling that this is very lucrative market to Hydro/DWC equipment providers, and nutrient makers. Also lots of honest journals and people trying to keep it real, challenging big claims of 20oz per plant blah blah....

Well. I started Dwc one year ago and can't give it up.....truly addicted and truly loving the hobby. I started in a 2x3x6 foot cupboard with 600W CFL envirolite. Growing Himalayan gold - no meters, no fans. It was a 12 hole bubble bucket with growth tech nutes. I think I harvested dry 1.5 oz. I was dissapointed but was aware that I had a lot to sort out.

Sorted everything that I feel needed sorting out. And in one year have managed four grows from seed. Always having poor female to male ratio. Last grow was Big bud#2 One good female provided nearly 3oz. I was very happy with that. And all the grows prior to that did slightly increase in quantity. This time round I have 3 White rhino fem, 2 big bud reg#2, 1 lemon skunk fem. All looking really good for 3 weeks old. Struggling with temps in UK at moment due to very unusuaLLY hot start to spring.

I am now using a 1.2x1.2x2m tent. Starting seeds with 125W cfl, then going on to 250W HPS for 4 weeks then moving to 400W. I have three temp meters and all read different temps lol! One of them is a temp controler from forttex. I have a Halliea four way air pump that is loud as hell! So it is on the lowest setting and I add regular liquid oxygen + nitrozyme, green fuse root, ionic grow, superdrive. Next purchase is to turn the system to bubbleponics.

Seed companies give big yield estimates and yet to see anything close but the evidence is there, online, or is it?

So why am I writing all this? Well this thread pissed me off..... I read a lot, yet, didn't lear a lot and feel a little conned, So it is my attempt to turn this into my honest fourth grow journal. I will upload pici's soon. Not too much to look at, at the moment, so give me a couple of weeks. I havn't given all grow details just to see what responses and question come back from genuine helpers or genuine bull ********!

if you wanna journal then start your own..i wouldn't jack this thread..it ain't worth it..besides Void Object would like to see this thread gone..lol

Well...A note to Void Object - maybe this thread is worth jacking and my reason for this is that it is an information experience for new growers to not beleive the hype. So much hype in the grow world that needs to be turned around. Also, tackling the money makers that maybe misleading people in expensive set ups that promise yields that I have rarely seen or seen evidence of. We need a canabis growers watch dog! lol x

So, still jacking this thread for now....til Voidobject decides to close it. My White rhino seeds are 4 weeks old now and looking really nice. Bought a humidifier today and new airstones. Last air stones didn't last long and were pretty poor quality. Got some 2 inch globe air stones now and they work lovely. I have 2 white rhino's in pots and the rest of the the freebie seeds are in large pots filled with bio biz all mix. But I will focus on the DWC plants. Stems fattening now, 4th set of leaves just emerging. Using ionic nutes and organic stimulators from growth technologies, roots lookin ace, but the organics are adding lots of gunc. Remembering Voidobject writing somewhere don't go near organics, so a little worried, but I have plenty H2o2 to cure probs if they start. Had so much bad luck with male feminized - fingers crossed the I get an all female cast this time.
