You need to e careful by doing wiring. Be sure there are good and isolated connections that can't spark. And make sure you attach those lamps properly not with some duct tape or something. you need to leave some space between cardboard and lights. And how do you plan on avoiding light leaks. this "door" doesn't look very tight! I saw once on youtube where man was growing in cardboard box. but he used inside box which he covered with the outside one. that was one stealthy grow

P.S. I found it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gnH5luOBtw

seems like a giant fire hazard to me, you could always use a rubbermaid container. its stealthy yet a little less sketchy, or do as i did and go on craigslist.org and find some cheap old speaker boxes to hollow out

CFLs are really safe as long as you are not doing your own half assed wiring. Remember those old incandescent bulbs that got to 400 degrees? And remember the old dry crinkled paper lamp shades? That was a fire hazard... Fairly cool CFLs in a cardboard boxed lined with metal isn't too bad.

Thanks for the vid! And I have to agree if your going with a box, I would go the direction the guy in the video shared. I have a basement storage closet with two 78' tall cabinets in them. Looking for something temporary I go with a box, but if you have a bit more security and space I wouldn't do a cardboard box.

honestly its perfectly fine as long as your fans work properly. I am currently working on a grow with a box for printer paper (http://www.domtar.com/images/paper/Husky_Copy_R.jpg). I have done a cardboard box grow with a UPS shipping box and wanted to test it left it running 247 for a week and nothing bad happened. The box was cold to touch even though there was 3x26watt cfl in it
