Is This Normal (pics)

I'm starting on the 6th week of flowering and the buds are coming along nicely except there are yellowish things growing out of some of the buds instead of hairs. It's making me nervous even though it doesn't look like hermie pictures I've seen. I've heard of false seed pods... but don't know what they look like or if it's something bad.

I'm hoping someone will recognise what they are.

looks like male flowers....it may have a few seeds when done, and may take a little longer to finish...but it looks real good so it should be primo smoke still...no worries..

Cali pinned it ... I started pulling the little pods off with tweazers this morning and had some pop in my fingers... definately pollen inside.

The plant is getting close to harvest anyway so I flushed it and the other one I have of the same strain this morning. I'm hoping there won't be enough time to really produce seeds before harvesting them...

I scoured the boards last night on hermies.... I don't know if this really is one or not. It didn't have any balls I could see before now. And really now it doesn't look like that either now - other than a few tiny pods sticking out of otherwise very hairy buds. On one of the post FDD was talking about females occasionally trying to self pollenate at the end of flowering. I think that might be the case here, but that might be wishful thinking granted.

I'll be harvesting the buds regardless... I took a sample off the plant and smoked it earlier ... nice buzz.

those, my friend, are known as "nanners" or bananna's... single male flowers that like to show up and annoy the piss out of ya...

i wouldn't keep cuts of this plant around after this grow... find a true female =]

Thanks for the info everyone :-) you all rock as always. So are the 'nanners' caused by stress to the plant or is it just a it happens sometimes thing? I'm starting more seeds this week and I don't want to continue stressing plants if that's what I'm doing.

could be stress... could be genetic... could be both...

any light leaks that you know of?
and what strain? some are more likely to herm than others (thais are notorious for hermying... most land race strains for that matter...)

My 'light trap' for my intake vent into the room doesn't seem to be 'trapping' all the light ;p It's low on the wall and when I checked the light proofing of the room well I was standing up.

I'll be fixing that today. On a side note.... I was molesting my plants last night looking for a little side branch to snip for a sample and snap I broke a different branch by accident. It wasn't a main cola so it's cool. So I trimmed off the smaller buds and put em on my reflector to dry overnight and hung the main bud to dry slower.

I figure a few samples during the last couple weeks will help me decide how 'ripe' I really like it for future grows.

Looks like a nice plant, one or two seeds don't matter. Are you going to sprout them if you get any?

Hadn't thought about it .... but I don't think I will get any viable seeds from it. I chopped the girl that had the nanners and she is drying atm. Yum Yum!! I have 2 more plants to harvest.... one is developing a few nanners too but the other one isn't. Both of the plants that had the nanners where of the same strain.... /shrug.

I did start 8 more seeds including 2 bag seeds and all are germinating. I wasn't expecting the bag seed to germinate really. Since we are already planning another trip to BC for seeds I figured I better use up what I have.
