Yes there is such a thing as too much light, not sure exactly where that is, but if you're exceeding a nice bright late summer day, it's probably wasted.
I think two 1000's in your space with a supplemental MH or plasma would be perfect.
ya i agree that the mh was a good idea ive never grow with mixed spectrum, would u say it increases yield or maybe trichome production

coldsmoke could u post a pic cause i would love to see that!! and i feel the same way i get great yields with out it and if its not gonna make much difference then why use it lol
Sorry bro they are all on my Pos computer lol

i believe you'd love the added co2. And your talking about adding more lamps? Co2 would through you way over the top.

so theres all the info please help if u can ive heard people say theres no such thing as too much light and ive also heard that there is so any opinion is greatly appreciated thanks again.
Yeah.. there is such thing as too much light. 1KW's have hotspots IMHO. Even if the tops are within an acceptable temp range you get light bleaching and foxtailing. I think you get better stacking if you dont over do the light..

Yes I believe you get much tighter, fuller buds with MH supplemental, but I'm a big believer in adding UVB to the spectrum along with the added blue/white light that MH adds and Plasma does both. It is spendy though.
I read this paper a while back, I think it was in 2012 where a guy mapped out all the places in world historically known for their high THC content plants and then he overlaid a map pf places that had higher UV radiation in the atmosphere and wallah there you go perfect match. There are many that believe the "sunburn" the UVB radiation delivers to the plants increases THC content by 5%. Not sure about that percentage, I just know what's sticky and what I like to smoke. Too much UVB is a bad thing and will kill plants.
I agree with the comment about DE fixtures I have 4 Gavita 6/750DE's and 2 Gavita 270 LEP plasma on light movers in a 10 x 12 area, works well, had to buy some UV sunglasses though. And everytime I open the door to my grow shed I feel like I'm lighting up my small town.

Nice dad
Ive beens using enhanced mh
along with my old school 90w led to add more reds with less heat

how well do you like those plasma's?

I love tech and will change when they prove them selves

I would like to try a newer system but only if it will match my 1000w for yields

I like em, heavy bastards (I think about 30lb., double checked the capacity of the movers) and they do get warm, not hot, but warm and will add a 300w load to the room. The plants like em. Gavita has 2 versions of the plasma I am using the 41.01 emitter that is for supplementing HPS light pretty much only. The other one 41.02 is good for veg and bloom.

Nice what kind of trditional lighting
Is that 300w equal to ball park

Here's a reference that states the "temperature and light optima for photosynthesis was concluded to be at 25-30 °C and ∼1500 μmol m(-2)s(-1) respectively." Anything beyond that and you're losing your bang for your buck. I'm assuming they used HPS lights in the study. If they were using something other than HPS; well that'd be a different story.

Don't mean to jack the thread here.

Not sure about that puts out a 4' x 4' pattern with suggested 30" distance to plants. Light is very white/blue but I think the UV is the magic.
I agree i own the Rocket Plasma with enhanced red spectrum My lord its nice how is the gavita in flower only.?

They didn't.

I'm finding out right now, just finished 3rd week of flower. This is the maiden run for my new garden with Gavita lights and controller. So far the plants like it. This is a New York Power Diesel that is going to be pretty purple.2 weeks.jpg

Looks good. I did complete grow with rocket plasma. Turned out awesome especially 230 watts. It's not 1000 but
