Is there such thing as TOO dank? Serious question!

I have been growing for quite a while. I brought in some nice crops in my day.

My latest I went all out. HPS LED and UVB lighting. Expensive custom Soil all organic nutes. I vegged for 5 weeks flowered for 9 1/2. pure RO water last 2 1/2 weeks. Dehumdifier and AC kept a constant perfect enviorment. Even had CO2 for most of the cycle.

The strain? A severe local hydrid of Grand daddy purple/pineappleExpress Male (a designer strain that hit our area about a year ago) mixed with the prettiest old school Skunk#1/Silver Haze female. This is a strain he has grown for a while. The thought was old classic mom with a new designer dad.

Results were fantastic. It smells like cotton candy for lack of a better term. Super sweet with a undertone of skunky.

They were dried for 12 days upside down after 36 hours of darkness. Some of the larger buds were STILL not dry. I kept humidity at 45-55.

Clipped, and rough manicure. Put into jars. Next day stem had made all the buds moist again. I know dry to touch, jar and they turn softer. but these things just wont give up the moisture!!! Some felt like fresh growing buds.

Now they are on metal trays to dry more. 3 days now and still no snappy stem. Anything I have trayed to dry before never took more than 24 hours.

So my stupid question is can the buds be too dank to ever fully dry like normal? Too much THC or trichs that I will have to leave them like this?

I am dead serious stoners. I aint ever seen shit like this and I have been medicating for 20 years. The smoke off it is immature not cured but the buzz is awesome. I need to get these in jars or I aint evah gonna get to smoke a deep cure.

So anyone ever experience this? My theory is because of the density of the crystals, they may always feel wet adn this may be their nautral finished state. The stems not dry is whats throwin me.

POST PLEASE!!! And I am not bragging nor am I bullshiiting you. Anyone in the Northern California area with a valid Doctor's recommendation/prop215 legit, I will walk my talk and let you have a taste if you are cool, worthy, have a severe medical condition or are a smokin hot chick. :bigjoint: So far 3 growers have said omfg never seen stuff like this.

Pics were taken at 6 1/2 weeks. Imagine the final pull with another 3 weeks on them....

We named it WOW (Wonderfully Odiferous Weed) A 600cfm 75lb carbon filter could not even contain the aroma.

did you cut your plant and leave it 36 hrs with no light? or did you leave the plant and left the light off for 36 hrs cut it down then dryed it AFTER 36 hrs of darkness? what does 36hrs of darkness do to the bud if you leave it off when the plant is still alive at the end of grow?

No lol,
your bud shouldnt really snap after drying, you should start curing in jars whilst the stems are still bendy... this way the moisture will sweat out from the core of the bud.

Soil went to bone dry before lights out. gave enough to only keep them from wilting. They finished the day still potted. We then let them sit in the pot as is for 36 hours. My reasoning they do produce trichs at nite. the normal 12 hours cycle is not enough, meaning the lights come on before th eplant has expended all of its potential energy producing trichs. I read extensively 24 hours produced good results. To be sure we let them go 36 hours.

Cut at base and hung old school for the 12 days. At that point did a manicure and jarred. I have extensive experience curing. Bud are dry to the touch. You jar them, the moisture from the stem redistributes thru the bud and they "soften". This moisture is then used in the next weeks during the final curing.

Well the next day opened the jars to breath and yah they were moister than they should be for jar drying.

I have reached the point I believe they are ready to be jarred. It just makes me nervous as yes I fear mold and check them 3 times a day.

Anyone who has jarred at the wrong time and lost stuff to mold, knows my concern. So I was just asking around hoping to get insightful opinions. GDE alleges 20%+ THC and the UVB light used made the THC content of these girls higher. No I dont have a scientific study or nothing. I just know. CBD+UVB=THC. google it. I read extensively on this which is why we added uvb this growe.

Interesting that you can't get them to dry. The buds are not that big and 12 days with those humidity numbers shouldn't be a problem. I run 1/4 lb wet single dense colas that are covered in trics and they are dried by 4 days hanging then 3 days in paper sacs then into jars and sweeted for at least 10 days without a problem. What is your outdoor humidity???-what is the temp inyour drying area?

I honestly think you just have some really huge buds. Keep at it for another week if you have to. There's probably a lot of syrup in those things.

BS .. every grower on the planet that knows what they are doing will tell you to dry till the stem snaps ... if they are bendy they arnt dry and you have a serious chance of getting mold while curing unless you burb every 5 min.

If youre stem in not dry at the stem .. imagine how moist the bud is?

If youre grow is as epic as it sounds please be patient and dry till youre stalk in snappy dry THEN and only then should you cure.
